Trump really wants to kill both OpenAI and Anthropic, nationalize their tech and then become the emperor of mankind.

What I speculate happened, is Trump et al used a jailbreaking excuse to try to restrict Claude to US citizens only in order to use it as a bargaining/bullying chip, and (as much as I dont like Dario) I think anthropic did the morally right thing to just cut it out from everyone.

@petersaints @SeHozaifa @ClaudeDevs This administration will do everything so only Americans can use their LLMs. Just watch. They will lose the war with China, though, if they keep the direction. I expect nothing less than GPT 5.5 ban on Monday.

@flurrisdev @SeHozaifa @ClaudeDevs Not even GPT 5.6 for public deployment for US citizens either. You can't make it public available in the US and restrict it to US citizens only, since there are non-US citizens in the US. It is basically game over for the industry.

Anthropic is stating that the basis of the governments claim to suspend Claude Fable 5 are not valid. The report displayed a level of capability that other models such as GPT 5.5 could also achieve. Fable 5 will be back by Monday.

@antirez It's literally the end of US primacy if they won't share LLMs.

What Europe should do right now: 1. Call all the European researchers working on AI and return them back with same salary (or they can stay but switch career). 2. Fill EU places having GPUs with money, and put those people there. 3. AI partnerships with China + India.

The US government just paused AI for everyone. Be sure that YOU WON'T get GPT 5.6. And 5.5 might get banned too. It was a nice ride. See you in two decades.

Can't agree, the feeling is different. GPT is like, "Did you do it?" "No, I only scaffolded for the future upgrade." Fable is like, "Did you do it?" "Yes, I implemented an academically correct solution, deleted dead code, and wired in the front end." Also GPT always says that something is big, will take days to implement, or is hard. Fable says "Here are 3 options: A is fast but fundamentally wrong, B is harder but the proper solution, and C, let's keep it as is and move to something more important."

fable is overall very good obviously but it feels like a lot of people have never used a gpt-5.5 tier model before

Fable level intelligence for everyone is enough to change the world. AGI can wait.

Fable 5 is genuinely cracked at indie games… Fun fact, a lot of people didn’t believe me because it looks too good to be Claude Fable However it lobotomized the original game because my browser was lagging initially, so it made slightly smaller rooms and dimmed the dynamic lighting. This is the full un-lobotomized version 💀

Claude 5 Fable (Ultracode) "Make a playable alpine glacial valley at sunrise" No meshes or models. Everything you see is math. Fable screenshotted its own work and iterated. Took ~30 mins, ~500k tokens, ~2500 lines of code, and ~$25. Extremely impressive.

@theo Hey Theo, have you found a benchmark of how different harnesses perform with Fable? I haven't found anything useful so far and it's too expensive to independently find out lol

If Anthropic put out a $1000/month tier that gets 5x the $200 tier limits and also lets us keep Fable access, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
