Today we are welcoming the Metis team to DoorDash as part of DoorDash AI Research.
For the past six months, DoorDash has partnered with Metis to build AI agents together, and we have been consistently impressed by their team. By joining forces, we aim to accelerate our plans on building agentic commerce and pushing the frontier of physical intelligence. Excited to share more there soon.
It’s still early innings with how AI will transform local commerce, and we’re looking forward to exploring those possibilities together with Aryan, Aayush, Marcus and the Metis team!

I got to meet William 3 years ago when he had an incredible vision to build agents that would code. This was before many of the other coding agents around today were even around.
I immediately invested as an angel and got to see him take on the founder journey to build products that ended up winning the trust of many engineers.
Today, i’m excited to have him join forces with us here at @xai and work closely with him as he builds out products to now help billions

For the last couple years I founded the most widely used coding agent for Android, scaling it to millions in revenue with a team of 3.
I've watched model capabilities compound at a staggering rate and we're clearly on the brink of recursive superintelligence. This is the most important problem to solve in history and requires an immense amount of resources to realize.
xAI is the place to build the future. Frontier compute, extraordinary talent, and a strong hold on physical intelligence and space.

He was starting to work through various side projects and always jamming on startup ideas and ways to help people.
It’s been an absolute pleasure seeing him do that and take on incredible challenges to building a generational product to help Android developers build.
Incredibly excited to welcome him to the team at @xai and get to work much more closely now!
