@TrevorFarrell12 LSL before mart you can search exactly what you are looking for. Age, breed and sex. Also you can see what cattle are making easily up to midnight. Most prefer it i would say Also has stock sales and purchases to check what you bought and sold simply

@karldeeter Main reason for cause of affordability or lack of, is reduction of productivity per labour unit and increased regulation

@GerHogg The buyers that actually buy most of the calves dont do it because they can tell by looking at calf if suckled or bucket fed

A few more picked up for an average of €200. On a side note, dairy farmers who sell calves that have only ever sucked a cow, ye deserve a special place in hell 🤷🏻‍♂️😅💪🐮

@GerHogg Ok he will probably have more immunity not less. Most buyers that don't want to buy calves suckled go around to calves first and see will they suck the finger. If they don't they dont buy. But you seem to just buy calf you think is cheap there is consequences for that

@johnstack15 A calf going from ad-lib cows milk to tad milk replacer, will go back in condition and face a serious drop in immunity. Add to that the battle to get them going on a teat feeder and it’s a con and noting else

@johnstack15 Who wants to battle with a calf while it’s convinced a peach teat is the devil itself. And watch them loose condition as they transition from ad-lib cows milk to twd milk replacer. What you mean is, the condition a cow puts on a calf cons a buyer into paying more 😀

These lads are 4-5 weeks old, bought on 2 weeks ago. Hitting their grove now, heading straight for the meal trough after finishing their milk. On 7 litres of @AgritechIreland vitalac blue and eating .5kg per head of @LiffeyMills calf 18 ration.

@KillianM2 @karldeeter Murphy is in PBP full socialist. So I'm sure he will socialise the costs if he ends up with them.

@2pintpaddy Not sure on if much difference, doubt it, but vets have to register with dafm to use. If vets late registering could be delayed in supplies.

Beef cut again, calves going ridiculous money, not viable anymore for the small farmer. No wonder half the land in the country is idle, collect the grants and forget about the stress.

@GerHerbert1 @kryan4 If you are depending on charging hubs, you shouldn't have an electric car. For me Night rate is 16c / kw Day rate is 26 c/kw Last charging hub i used 66c/kw

@kryan4 I am not aware of any central database which would be great to have. The network is growing but delivery is patchy and reliability/queues are real issues. It's also not helped by the fact that the government tends to announce any new charging hubs multiple times!
