Obama's accumulated an impressive list of accomplishments.
He can literally say that he has done more than any other President before him.
1. First President to be photographed smoking a joint.
2. First President to apply for college aid as a foreign student, then deny he was a foreigner.
3. First President to have a social security number from a state he has never lived in.
4. First President to preside over a cut to the credit-rating of the United States.
5. First President to violate the War Powers Act.
- On March 19, 2011, President Obama authorized U.S. forces to join a NATO-led coalition enforcing a UN Security Council no-fly zone and protecting civilians during the Libyan civil war against Muammar Gaddafi.
- This included airstrikes, suppression of air defenses, and later support roles (intelligence, refueling, drone strikes).
6. First President to be held in contempt of court for illegally obstructing oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico.
7. First President to require all Americans to purchase a product from a third party.
- This was due to Obamacare!
8. First President to spend a trillion dollars on "shovel-ready" jobs, before he admitted there was no such thing as "shovel-ready" jobs.
9. First President to abrogate bankruptcy law to turn over control of companies to his union supporters.
- The handling of the 2009 GM and Chrysler bankruptcies involved significant government intervention that critics (including legal scholars and affected creditors) argued bent or bypassed normal bankruptcy priorities to benefit the United Auto Workers (UAW) union.
10. First President to by-pass Congress and implement the Dream Act through executive fiat.
- No activist judge stopped him.
11. First President to order a secret amnesty program that stopped the deportation of illegal immigrants across the U.S., including those with criminal convictions.
- Again, no activist judge stopped him.
12. First President to demand a company hand-over $20 billion to one of his political appointees.
- In June 2010, after the massive BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, Obama met with BP executives at the White House. BP agreed to establish a $20 billion escrow fund (contributed over time, starting with $5 billion in 2010) to compensate victims—individuals, businesses, and others—for economic damages.
- Kenneth Feinberg, a lawyer with prior experience as Special Master for the 9/11 Victim Compensation Fund (under the Bush administration), was selected as the independent administrator. The fund was structured as an escrow account run outside direct BP or full government control to speed up claims and reduce litigation.
- Feinberg had already served in the Obama administration as the “pay czar” overseeing executive compensation for TARP bailout recipients.
13. First President to tell a CEO of a major corporation (Chrysler) to resign.
14. First President to terminate America’s ability to put a man in space.
15. First President to cancel the National Day of Prayer and to say that America is NO LONGER a Christian nation.
- He encouraged the invasion of Muslims.
16. First President to have a law signed by an auto-pen without being present.
- The first instance occurred on May 27, 2011. While Obama was in France attending the G8 summit, he authorized the use of an autopen to sign the Patriot Act extension (PATRIOT Sunsets Extension Act of 2011) just before it expired at midnight Eastern Time. White House officials confirmed at the time that they believed this was the first such use for legislation.
- He later used it again in similar situations, such as signing an appropriations bill from Indonesia in 2011 and the fiscal cliff bill from Hawaii in 2013.
