@leifthunder @Mr_Derivatives I like that approach. I use both Public and Kalshi separately. One idea for integration I think is better than what some have done is just provide a 'portal' to prediction markets instead of it slopifying the whole brokerage experience.

@Mr_Derivatives You'll win that bet 😂 Lots of great use cases for economic and securities based prediction markets as part of one's portfolio. But as fun as sports betting can be, we believe it's better to keep that arms length from your investments.

A lot of heated back and forth between this recent ad from Public and its jab at Robinhood. And you know what?! I love it. I thought it was funny! I use both platforms, Public and RH. This is nothing new. Forevvvvver we have seen commercials take jabs at competition. It’s actually pretty normal. With that said, wouldn’t it be funny in a few years Public enters the Prediction markets? Wouldn’t doubt it…

Sound familiar?

Random, but the fact that I can go to my grocery store and purchase a rotisserie chicken for $6.99 is a modern miracle. 1300-1500 calories. 120-150g of protein. Raised, fed, butchered, transported, cooked, and stocked on the shelves. I can buy it for what is essentially pocket change at this point. Makes me grateful for how easy my life actually is

@mindthelongterm @amitisinvesting I might be off, but it seems like the administration knew and wasn’t/didn’t expect it to be this bad. And now they’re trying to back away saying “we knew nothing” — chickening out not in general sense but yes when it comes to bearing responsibility

TRUMP: - ISRAEL ATTACKED AN IRANIAN GAS FIELD OUT OF ANGER - NO MORE ATTACKS WILL BE DONE BY THEM Anything effecting oil prices is just not tolerable after the inflation print we got today. Trump knows that. He also seems upset.

@thephiloinvest @amitisinvesting What do you mean, did a TACO on this?....looks like he was okay with it as a further message of force, Qatar being lit up with attacks and being mad, and Trump posts this to try and quell things ...

-President Trump posting about South Pars gas field -strategic oil reserve releases -60-day waiver of the Jones Act -easing sanctions on Venezuela and striking energy deals -sanctions easing for some Russian oil -VP and policymakers meeting today w/ oil execs -floated possibility (and then denial) of US gov’t trading in commodities futures market -promise of (future) US Navy escorts Will anything calm energy markets except the Strait “re-opening” and the war ending? $brent $wti

How early (once again) was Dr.Karp on Palantir being debt free and maintaining a fortress balance sheet with $7B+ of liquidity. #TimeTraveler

.@carrynointerest explains the looming crisis for software private equity: “It all comes down to the fact that they were borrowing against ARR and not EBITDA. There’s very little profit to borrow against with a high-growth enterprise software company. And so what do you do? You need to juice your IRR somehow, so you need to borrow." "So you’ll go to a bunch of private credit funds and say, ‘Look, I’ve never lost money on a deal. You can’t lose with me. Just let me borrow against the ARR, and before it comes due, you know me, I’m going to sell it, and we’re all going to buy another Gulfstream, and we’re going to laugh about this in four years.’" "The problem was that the liquidity just left, both in terms of the most important person who could buy it, which was the strategic acquirer. When stock prices fell and interest rates went up, you’re just not as acquisitive." "But now you lump in the fact that AI is creating all these existential questions for enterprise software companies. And you have the depressed public valuations, and you have no profit, so your recovery rate with your lender might even be low. You can’t even take the keys to this business and milk it for dividends." "You have to do a massive restructuring, and that’s a really scary proposition for a lot of private credit funds."

Lotta takes on this one, but I for one appreciate Zuck and Meta for giving the Metaverse a shot Very few companies these days are doing anything remotely interesting or sci-fi or weird. Everyone's sitting in the same lane of pumping benchmarks and making things more 'agentic.' the Metaverse may have been an idea before it's time. or maybe just a bad idea altogether. but hell, Zuck gave it a shot, stuck with it for years, and ultimately, tried something different. it didn't work and so we all learned something. kudos to Meta, long live the hilariously ridiculous Metaverse
