On day 1 of my high school history class, our professor got up and said
You are 15 or 16 years old. 200 years ago people your age were married, planted crops, had children, and built a cabin by winter. You can do your homework. The bar set for you historically is embarrassingly low. You are not dealing with regional famine or plague. You do not have to save your family from marauders or go into battle to destroy your enemies. You have to sit down and learn from someone who cares about you in a safe, air-conditioned room. You have no excuses.

Dads with young kids
Is it normal to just feel tired and burnt out all the time?
It’s like you don’t even really get the weekend to recover because it’s all just kid stuff the moment you wake up
Arguably the only personal time you have is when they nap (and you’re already dead tired by that time) or the hour after they go to bed but before you pass out
Just trying to figure out if I’m doing something wrong

Vroom! The cleaning of the Reflecting Pool continued this morning as the Super Scrubbers pushed the green sludge to the center of the pool. By the end of the week, the vacuum trucks will arrive to collect the slurry of algae and goose poop. It's a smelly job, but our Facilities Management crew and contractors do it well. #WashingtonDC

@andreacpa0 I got emailed one... Luckily I have an iPhone, and was able to open it with the numbers app on my phone. Convert it to Excel. Then send it back to myself thru Teams, and opened it on my computer.

@durreadan01 On Windows, I install most things with Winget. On Mac, I install most things with Homebrew.
Command line installs and updates are much better.

I don’t understand the hate for this.
Much better than Windows which is like:
next > next > next > agree > agree > next > next > don’t install spyware > next > next > install > close

Before DNS, the Internet ran on a single text file.
You wanted a hostname?
You emailed Elizabeth Feinler’s team at SRI. They edited their local HOSTS.TXT and then everyone downloaded the new copy!
That worked… until it didn’t.
By 1983, it was obvious this wouldn’t scale, so Paul Mockapetris created DNS: distributed, hierarchical, no single point of failure.
The modern Internet exists because we stopped relying on one file to keep it all straight!

“The Chosen” Season 6 will premiere Nov. 15 on Amazon Prime Video. The season finale will receive a standalone theatrical release in spring 2027.
The synopsis reads: “The hour has come. Before the sun sets, Jesus of Nazareth will be dead. Season Six captures the historic events of Jesus’ final day through the lives of those who love Him—and those who condemn Him. Pharisees call it justice. Romans call it peace. Followers call it murder. But in the face of loneliness and death, Jesus stands resolute in his plan that has always led to one place: the cross. ‘The Chosen’ Season Six reveals how Jesus’ final hours changed the world forever.”

Good Friday
Pause and pray at each today:
6:00 AM – Jesus is tried by Jewish leaders
7:00 AM – Taken to Pilate, then Herod, then back to Pilate
8:00 AM – Sentenced to death
9:00 AM – Crucifixion begins
12:00 PM – Darkness covers the land
3:00 PM – Jesus dies
5:00 PM - Jesus laid in the tomb
“It is finished” - Jesus
He did this all for you and me.
Sunday is coming.
