Internet things that need to stop: People on twitter talking to followers like they're from a '70s Beano. Pals, chums, gang etc... fuck off

@PeerIGN @DaemZero @IGNUK Ah cool, thanks for looking into it, Peer. I think it was the Vogue podcast recommendation that set alarm bells ringing. Scoop!

@mostlysocial @DaemZero @IGNUK Turns out it was a default setting on Apple Podcasts that never did anything — and then Apple started using it. It should be turned off now. Thanks for flagging.

Hey @daemZero & @IGNUK, who’s responsible for the off-topic podcast recommendations appearing in the Game Scoop and IGN UK Podcast feeds? Last week Game Scoop posted a Vogue fashion podcast episode(?!), this week IGN UK one from a finance/side-hustle podcast. cc @peerign

@mostlysocial @DaemZero @IGNUK No idea. Seems like it’s only on Apple Podcasts. Perhaps someone turned on some promo setting. I’ve flagged and they’re looking into it.

@TheCinesthetic As someone who does this kind of thing, it always amazes me the people who think this is actually a real billboard out the in the wild & not CGI overlaid on footage of a street. There's a good reason why no-one in the street is looking at the ad - because it's not there for them

Thinking about Netflix’s wild promo for Resident Evil, with a Licker seemingly breaking out into the streets of New York. The video speaks for itself.

All the people paying a fortune for Mother Root, you can get an identical-tasting drink (for about a fifth of the cost) by taking two shots of Belvoir Ginger Cordial and one shot of Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar, and diluting with water

@OldLondonW14 In all the decades I've lived in the area, I'd never noticed the swan painted on the gable of the pub before (just under the chimney on the King Street side of the building). Only spotted it the other week taking a double decker to Shepherds Bush

Before the vast roundabout was built, there was much less of a distinction between Holland Park and Shepherds Bush. You can see all the housing that was demolished to make way for the vast new road system.

@mostlysocial While profile visits on X are private, using public interactions as a proxy, the most famous person to engage with your profile is music producer Hudson Mohawke, who replied to you in 2019. He's known for collaborations with Kanye West and Drake.

@janthonylong @brendonvolpe I've got a copy of the amazing coffeetable 'Absolut Book' I bought in New York in the mid-90s. It collected together all their ads at the time

@brendonvolpe I think a lot of us had those ads pinned up in our rooms. Just like kids today are printing out those banner ads and...oh, nevermind.

I wonder if @waitrose know that the reason more people don’t scan their MyWaitrose card is because it’s notoriously difficult to get the app’s barcode to scan on the self-service tills (far harder than Tesco, Sainsbury’s etc). 9 times out of 10 I just give up

to deselect everything & instead select the text inside the text box. It wastes so much of my time on a daily basis [2/2]

@AdobeCare Any way in Photoshop of turning off the irritating 'select text within a text box & deselect all other layers' when using the Move tool? I hate trying to shift+select 20-odd layers & then the app decides that because the last layer selected is a text box I want [1/2]
