@DefenderOfBasic i wonder if you can have several normie floors that all fruit the same. i guess there's some balance between breadth of reach/reception and potency; i wonder what your picture is for

@Actualwebutante i've noticed a lot of relaxation and stomach activity in my abdomen when i do open awareness meditation w/ a bit of intention toward exploring sensation the stomach area. that could help

I carry a ton of tension in my hips and stomach so inevitably when I do drugs, or go to the sauna, or do any sort of muscle release exercise, I have huge poops Does anyone know how to hold less tension in the tummy so I’m regular?

@danielbrottman i've felt this way abt meditationbook.page which i feel like gives affordance for all/many other modalities as just, like, other moves you can use, tools in the toolkit. meta protocol & the wide range of moves (aux practices) is meant afaict to further reduce blind spots

i still have a desire to find the One True Modality, but i also know that it's often wise to come at things from more than one angle

@br___ian what's worked a bit for me is holding these thoughts, playing with them, exploring this self-hatred space,,, while trying to curiously open up to discomfort that's like driving me toward such thoguhts

can you teach self love / work through self hatred? what about for someone who's pretty deep in it, any strategies that seem most useful?

@br___ian it makes sense that this is actually the case, under the idea of self-hatred being == like putting oneself down preemptively to avoid more pain and/or just dissociation from emotional discomfort (which is a form of protection) it feels very top-down/abstract tho, non-functional

like one sneaky angle i could imagine is instead of making it more real ("whoa you have so much disdain for yourself") you reframe all of it as different parts/desires expressing care in different ways

@br___ian idk,, & its contingent on what "through" means, e.g. maybe persistent self-hatred could lead to some breakthrough but ive noticed that in sessions of emotional release a lot of self-hating thoughts will evoke emotion and at some point i just naturally hold myself compassionately

@callanable @Naxela2 yes, been living at childhood home for a while, i notice i walk around constantly tense; preemptively brace against "being watched/heard" etc.

@Naxela2 for me it’s literally my whole torso—abdomen, chest, shoulders—also jaw, are constantly tense or… clenched. braced core, raised tight traps, defensive posture, etc. idk if that is others’ experience though.

@nosilverv this works for yourself as well and is dependent on awareness & knowledge of your action + world feedback e.g. practicing an instrument, being attuned enough to stop yourself and restart and readjust, possibly going slower or simpler (which can be a bit painful)

@johnnulls tucking subgraphs/groups into anything – lines, I/O ports, little 1:1 resizable views / portals into canvasses, ofc into nodes e.g. as functions...

@parablelicker showing the visual connections is a hard problem at scale. small refinements can be made, or retreats from the precise line into a more diffuse, dimmed or blurred form "canvas foldering" is underexplored–tucking subgraphs or groups away under one "handle"–but key to simplifying

@johnnulls certain line-drawing algos (incl. line-combining?) might help as well, as well as compressing subgraphs into nodes & having (line-)inlined subgraphs +1 on editable i/o, e.g. output is a field on a node, or the result of some function on it; set any such outputs

i think it makes more sense to include mechanisms such that each node can disclose its inputs/outputs, and have these be easily editable and to stop showing lines all the time, and only reveal on hover or selection

@Westoncb i imagine the function calls could be extracted and then generated too if/assuming they don't already exist. i'm not familiar either. you'd need something to generate `abstract(level, domain)`, `analogize` etc. and i suppose it could do it 0-shot not sure if i'm on ur track here

@parablelicker if i follow that seems like a valid route to implementation. i think the main value here is mostly linguistic. like what i care about is being able to describe that kind of behavior in a small amount of text, but i’m not familiar with other products doing this

this is something i've built a couple iterations of now but never polished to the point of being a product. what's the best existing way to compactly specify these kinds of pipelines?

@Westoncb i love this thread, i think as a person uses a coding agent when building a product from scratch, a design/spec for the product should be built in tandem and integrate all the user's subsequent messages ("change this", "add this")

if you hand it off to an agent, a spec is both a goal and a plan, and those two concerns should probably be separated. a goal depends strictly on user-owned info; a goal may have N valid plans; plans can be derived from goals

@Westoncb ideally it quotes the human word-for-word (maybe somewhere "below"/adjacent to the actual spec/design) and derives its spec from that
