@Stiryd @TheOdinProject Agreed, I Initially dual booted my laptop to work through it. As I was working more on JavaScript I've gone back to using windows. I'm just setting up rails again and it has its pain points with windows but it's so much better now and any issues can be resolved with ease

@TheOdinProject The only bad thing about TOP is that they think you need to use Linux to do web development. I know many people who didn't get into the curriculum because of that, thinking they couldn't do it on Windows.

Here at TOP, we like to emphasize that the language doesn't matter, but instead good fundamentals do. Learners often can't decide which one to pick, so we implemented a spinner at the end of our foundations path to help them decide! Check it out! theodinproject.com/lessons/founda…

Copying the contents of 12 files and pasting them as code blocks in the body of a GitHub issue is not a reproduction 🫠 Has anyone written the canonical “what’s a minimal reproduction?” article so I can bookmark it and link to it every day? 😅

@traversymedia This is me right now, feels like I've been in tutorial hell forever. By the time I learn one thing I feel like I forgot the thing I learned before that. I'm now building my freelance business site and am just going to learn as I go

Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there and start freelancing, applying for jobs, making products, whatever. I NEVER felt ready before any of that stuff. I was always full of doubt. You have to shut that part of your brain off and just do it. Go get what you want!

@cjaythecreator I sold cigarettes, sold enough to buy my own to smoke through the day and enough left over to buy beer at the weekend. Those were the days!

When you were a kid, were you already an entrepreneur? I mean did you sell candy or lemonade at school? 🍭

@zg_dev @tailwindcss @algolia Agreed, the docs are some of the best around. As a new developer they are easy to read and understand. I find with most other docs I need a thesaurus and a sacrifice to the gods to understand anything

One of the lesser acknowledged reasons for @tailwindcss's massive success is how much effort they put into great documentation, not to mention the ability to search the docs quickly with @algolia. Utility classes aren't new, it's great organization + discoverability that matters

May 2021 - I remember taking this screenshot because I was excited to get 140 views on a video. May 2022 - My most recent video has over 10K views in a single week. Still small compared to where I want to take LearnVue, but huge in terms of growth. 🙂 #buildinpublic

I think people shy away from creating these kinds of series because: A: they're hard work! B: they open the creator to a lot of criticism.

#vuejs devs question: Are you sick of "build an app in 30 minutes" and "How to do every coding thing ever" videos? Get the feeling you are? Thinking of creating a "build a robust app" kind of series 🤔 Where we spend waaay more time on foundation and refactoring!

@devVGBG @codedailybot Hey, site looks great. One small thing I picked up on was some of the text is overflowing the containers. I have a small phone so get this issue with a lot of sites. But otherwise it looks nice!!!

[#100DaysOfCode] Day 25/100 I built my portfolio website. I wanted it to be something I was happy to show people. I will appreciate feedback and criticism as I hope to learn from them. More JS projects and a new learning phase tomorrow. #100Devs Link: opeyemistephen.netlify.app

I keep seeing new developers buying "Javascript & Jquery" But is that really the best book to learn from? That book was old when I read it 6 years ago Jquery is (mostly) dead Reviews say no ES6 Has anyone with industry experience read it recently? Up to date or avoid?
