Most likely, Monolith Soft is helping with the Ocarina of Time Remake. Monolith Soft is big enough now to sustain multiple game projects. So they potentially working on OoT Remake doesn't mean no new Xenoblade Chronicles.

There has been a lot of talk about Nintendo's unannounced games but not much discussion about Next Level Games. They haven't released a game since 2022 (Mario Strikers). Whatever they are working on for Switch 2 might be pretty close. I predict Luigi's Mansion 4.

@BoundaryBreak The best thing about TPs dungeons is that a lot of them weren’t just temples. They were actual places. A mansion, a mine, a prison, etc.. This is how you make dungeons feel like they are part of the game world.

Oh in my mind it's Twilight Princess without much deliberation. The image below is one of the best examples but also the water temple with the staircases? Mines with the magnet boots? Immersion was huge for TPs dungeons

@BoundaryBreak I'm sorry but no. OoT was not supposed to look like this. These art works were made AFTER the in-game visuals and were not supposed to be a 1:1 interpretation. Many games did it this way back then. I.e. OoTs in-game visuals have more muted colors and faces look very different

A perfect grade Ocarina of Time is: 1. Artstyle is the art you see below but 3D modeled. With the gradient lighting, toon lines. Literally you should be able to replicate the pose you see here but in 3d (and yes, there's proof of this being possible) 2. Reimagine the combat to be like Twilight Princess. Enemies engage with more meaning, solutions to the combat can quicken the fights, sword fighting moves can be obtained by side quests. 3. Exploration should rip out a tiny corner from Breath of the Wild. And by that I ONLY mean that players should still be able to explore off the intended main story path. But unlike the Ocarina of Time original. This version should be loaded with things to do for making that choice. Visited Zora river before going to Hyrule marketplace for the first time? Have a Zora offer an item to take to the Hyrule market place shop for a reward. This will alleviate new players frustration with failing to find the right path. Ease back on the right path. And be perceived as extra content for returning players. 4. Add. But don't take away. Don't censor or brighten the darker elements of Ocarina. But feel free to add things over time that might feel empty or barren. Hyrule Field for example can start off as Hyrule Field as we've always known. But there's plenty of space in there to occupy with quests, characters, or a sense of lived lives amongst existing characters.

Here’s another example: Fire Emblem Echoes. Now I’m not saying that full remakes of Nintendo games aren’t rare, however they do happen.

@plhalmi @oliemack @kiwitalkz Metroid Prime remaster is the youngest game there and that's only 3 younger than OOT and again, you're talking about comparing when you can't give me an example of where Nintendo have done otherwise.

So Nate The Hate is saying an Ocarina Of Time Remake is coming later in the year. I am still skeptical about this and have a few thoughts. 1. First off whose making it, no way it can be the Zelda team they are preoccupied with the next Zelda? What team internally has the skill level to pull it off? 2. A remake as opposed to a remaster would take 4 to 5 years and youd have to fundamentally rethink every convention in the game and would require a crap ton of resources. 3. Surely this isnt their big holiday game if it does exist? or they release it in October. Ocarina Of Time is my third favourite game behind RE4 Remake and Super Metroid, I love it to death but let's be real no way can this go toe to toe with GTA 6, and if I have to pick one game during Xmas I am 1000% picking GTA 6 over a remake of Ocarina Of Time and I guarantee many others will too. My belief was always an updated version of Ocarina Of Time on 3DS was more plausible.

@lilrizk @oliemack @kiwitalkz Literally none of those games are comparable. They are either very simple games that still work well and wouldn’t be too different if developed today or remakes of more modern titles that simply don’t need huge overhauls.

@plhalmi @oliemack @kiwitalkz What makes you say that. From metroid prime remaster, Mario vs DK, mario rpg, Mystery Dungeon and Links Awakening. Every single remake nintendo has done are visual remakes. I am being honest when I say it will most likely be a visual remake.

@plhalmi @oliemack @kiwitalkz 1. They could be working on 2 prpjects 2. There is a first time for everything. 3. A visual remake of a N64 gamd isn't exactly a super large scale project. I am not expecting final fantasy rebirth here.

@lilrizk @oliemack @kiwitalkz Grezzo released Echoes of Wisdom only a little over a year ago. They only ever worked on smaller scale Zelda projects. I highly doubt they even have the capacity for a current-gen AAA action adventure with the level of visuals that people expect from an OoT Remake on Switch 2.
