@TimOnPoint @CynicalPublius I was shocked when Mattis didn’t scrap the trans stuff as SecDef in 2017. It actually became much worse under him.

@CynicalPublius It's not even that most of them agreed with the DEI crap. They just saw it as a means to advancement. They sacrificed the force for personal gain.

The thing to understand is that the Obama/Biden regimes were successful in training many senior generals and admirals that DEI is a core competency of the US military, and in many cases THE core competency of the military, over and above readiness and warfighting. Thus, when Hegseth came on board with a charter to demolish the anti-American, unconstitutional, debilitating DEI policies these generals and admirals held dear, it was as if Hegseth had showed up in 1913 to tell the horse cavalry that they were no longer needed on the battlefield, or if he had been there and sided with Billy Mitchell in 1921 when he demonstrated the vulnerability of naval vessels to air attack. Pete is attacking their Golden Calf. Necessary change in the military is often excruciatingly painful, but our SecWar is shouldering the pain and making that necessary change.
Nick Sortor@nicksortor

🔥 Pete Hegseth is ON FIRE today “The mantra you would hear dripping from the lips of generals, with a serious look on their face was, 'our diversity is our strength.’ Which is the SINGLE DUMBEST phrase in military HISTORY. Of course, our diversity is NOT our strength. Our UNITY is our strength.”

@WallStreetMav A pundit observed that many of these campuses could be put to good use as insane asylums. Our 50 year experiment with closing down asylums should come to end.

Hundreds of universities are at risk of going out of business. Students and parents are voting with their feet. “There are a large number of institutions that provide zero value”. “The education is not being rewarded in the labor market” “If you come out of school with $200,000 in debt, and your income didn’t go up as if you had not gone to school, that’s not a good investment.”

@anniekarni Would be nice if a journalist asked what scenarios he trained on in 2020 in Maine with the "Socialist Rifle Association". Were the bad guys in those scenarios foreign terrorists on US soil? Domestic opponents like the Proud Boys? Or the US government?

As you can tell, Graham Platner's candidacy is the opportunity for a lot of dark humor. But no, I don't believe that he "accidentally" got the symbol of the Nazi SS tattooed on his chest and that the guy previously described in flattering profiles as a "military history buff" just never noticed, for 18 years, that he had the SS Totenkopf staring back at him in the mirror every morning, and only realized the tattoo could be a problem when he heard other campaigns were doing opposition research about him. His own former campaign staffers contradict his account. The guy was, at minimum, Nazi-curious for a while, probably a long while.

@schoolofwarpod @DouglasKMurray Re: The Barricade. George Orwell learned the hard way about the allure of "the cause" after he was shot in the throat during the Spanish Civil War. Afterward he wrote it made him realize "it is possible to be a normal decent person and yet be fully alive."

@Commentary Just as importantly, teens need instruction on Gramscian Damage & USSR's "active measures" during Cold War. Otherwise, civics just competes with "woke" & progressivism. We need teens to understand how we got here @jpodhoretz @SethAMandel @AbeGreenwald

@schoolofwarpod @DouglasKMurray 5+ Cole Allens might've been able to force their way in. Graham Platner famously trained antifa militia. No one has asked the SRA in MN about the training, ie. who was the "enemy" they trained to fight? Foreign terror group? Domestic opponent (eg. Proud Boys)? Federal government?

🚨 WSJ bombshell: Antigovernment violence in America just hit a 30-year high—the “Year of the Molotov Cocktail.” For the first time in 20 years, the progressive Left is the most violent side. By a considerable margin. The data doesn’t lie. The radical left has a serious violence problem. Paywall-free 🔗 wsj.com/politics/polic…

Greg Gutfeld just delivered the single most succinct and cutting indictment of the leftwing media's complicity in Saturday's WHCD attack: "This guy did hear voices. They were Ted Lieu's, they were Brandon Johnson's, they were CNN's, they were The View, they were MS NOW." "I think this is a helpful assassination attempt because it is the first one that shows you can be radicalized by liberal smugness." "He wasn't a crank. He was not deranged. Don't buy into that narrative ... He was just following orders." Greg nails it.

Trump’s attacker isn’t deranged and disconnected, he is an engaged, rational soldier for the Left. Democrats and their drone media labeled President Trump “Hitler,” and this Cal Tech graduate took the only logical next step—to get rid of “Hitler.” Greg Gutfeld is 100% correct. x.com/AndrewKolvet/s…

@jimgeraghty I made this point on a different tweet yesterday. I've yet to see a photo of Mangione from a bad angle or looking pathetic, awkward, uncomfortable. They exist for everyone, but the press discards them in favor The Narrative, with an eye toward jury nullification or copycats.

You know exactly what Luigi Mangione looks like, and what he did. You probably have no idea who Edward Scott Huffman, Briana Boston, Ryan English, Cody Balmer, Audrey Illeene Carroll, Zachary Aaron Page, Dante Gaffield, Tina Lai, Micah Legnon, Chamel Abdulkarim, Daniel Moreno-Gama are, what they look like, and what they have done.

More than two years ago, my PSI staff discovered and made public emails in which Dr. David Morens bragged to colleagues about his efforts to avoid transparency by destroying federal records and using his personal email to communicate on “sensitive issues.” Today, @OIGatHHS announced that Dr. Morens has been arrested and charged with conspiracy and destruction of federal records. I applaud OIG’s new leadership for taking this much needed step forward to hold Dr. Morens accountable.

In a development that is sure to raise a furor, Janet Mills’s defiance of the state’s Democratic state legislative majority may be seen as a de facto surrender to her rival in the Democratic U.S. Senate primary, Graham Platner. It’s been a while since Mills led a poll in that primary, a fact that no doubt has Platner thumping his chest and feeling some Schadenfreude, believing he has captured the zeitgeist and proven himself the Übermensch.
