Just about every Monday I open up X I'm immediately reminded why I made it a rule of my life not to look at X on the weekends

@focusotter I find that asking why frequently results in processes being simplified. Everyone should get into the habit of asking it no matter how long they've been somewhere.

The best part about starting a new company is being that person with fresh eyes and being able to bring a new perspective. I find it's really important to treat this as a superpower. You're allowed to ask "But why?" on things that don't make sense.

@SathyaBhat It's great that you're learning to swim. FWIW I wasn't much of a swimmer before 11 when I finally figured it out years after my friends. I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

@AvidCommentator Online property guru's/mortgage brokers all promote using companies (or trusts) to avoid bank borrowing capacity limits. Negative gearing changes don't matter to them. CGT discount changes don't impact them.

There are 97,300 people holding 3 or more negatively investment properties in the latest ATO data. Of that they own 364,500 property interests. Throw in some loan restructuring, the limiting of negative gearing to two properties is largely ineffective political theatre.

@petehanssens I feel I'm more productive keeping the same tech stack as much as possible. I would only change if there was a clear reason or I was changing my primary focus.

@petehanssens I reject the assumption that there's no cost to switching between languages. Even with AI driven development you need to know if it's good enough or further guidance is required.
