With respect to club owners and executives, any decision on VAR should be taken only after proper consultation with a club's manager, players and supporters. Their technical/emotional input is vital. Even if Wolves' campaign to scrap VAR fails, as is probable, it would be great if they passed a motion to remind officials to be guided by seven words: “clear and obvious”, “minimum interference, maximum benefit”. And to remember the game's about Villa Park, St James' Park and Goodison Park not Stockley Park.

The 10 point deduction is not about: *Overspending *Mis-management *Sporting Advantage Or *Wether there was Guilt or not Simply, it’s about an excessive, disproportionate and unreasonable punishment for the offence committed

The 10 point deduction for Everton is excessive & not right, considering they have been working with the PL about this for the last couple of years. Would it have been better to be evasive & try & drag it out like other clubs? No doubt relegated clubs will have put big pressure on the PL to deal with Everton, but when you consider 6 clubs tried to leave the PL & there was no sanction at all it doesn’t feel right. Until other clubs are sanctioned Everton will feel they are being used to show there is no need for an independent regulator, and they are right.

@jhackett__ Some of these comments make me laugh - ‘awful player’ ‘bang average’. He’s an England 21 international & at 21 has played 70 games in the championship. A very good attacking wingback with pace who deserves to be playing at a higher level to league 1 imo. I wish him all the best

Another piece of news to crop up today is that Lee Buchanan will be allowed to leave since his contract extension has been disputed by his camp. Derby would be due a compensation fee of around £400,000 amid interest from Werder Bremen and a few English sides.
