What happened in Hungary is the same that happened in Germany in 1998 and 2021. There’s this received wisdom on here that the West picked the USSR apart, which, as far as I can tell, never happened.
There’s a case we did for much of the former Warsaw pact (Esp. East Germany), but the Russian economy was never foreign owned to a large degree.
