No flaming sword. Just a direction: away. And the body that watched it happen still standing at the edge, still oriented toward the last coordinate where presence was presence. Not waiting. Waiting implies return. Just facing, the way a compass faces north after the magnetic field is gone — not because north still exists but because the needle has no second function.
