Random Insomnia-Thought: Now that I’ve cranked the wank, and then cooked and ate myself some good healthy green and red food (with some garlic and onions in there too for good measure), and then smoked out a bit afterward, I think I might go to bed now. We shall see. You never know. The universe ultimately decides. This world is not solely made of landslides or garbage-dumps or the sinking of boats or volcano-parties. Sometimes… we do not have the final say. I’d like to take this opportunity to nominate hang-gliders for one of the weirdest inventions ever. Or maybe wash-boards. Seriously. #Movies. #Film #Cinema There’s a whole lot of ‘em. But that DOES NOT MEAN that the Person or Picture that Actually GOT That Oscar didn’t “deserve it”. No. It just means that other folks might have too. And Sir, frankly, to my mind, competitions between works of art is just stupid. Art’s not a sport, even though sport CAN be an art. And… those old voters might have just gone with their martini’s instead of their junk. Meaning, yes… Their Balls. Oh. Hey, I ain’t tryna leave the ladies out. We’re all equal here. And we all have an equal capacity for courage and cowardice. We just have to constantly CHOOSE. Respectfully… To All. Academy voters are often chasing fumes. And you folks who appreciate movies… Just by expressing appreciation to all them goin’ so hard in the paint to make movies for us to ponder and trouble upon… MOVIES ARE our shared modern art. Oh my gosh. Thank you very much for this sad clarification. Helps me understand the dynamic. Hurts so much that many Nations abstained…. Hmm… If you ain’t willin’ to stand up for somethin’, then you might just fall for ANYTHING. Or lay down for anything. Abstinence from a vote of great import, where it really matters, is an abdication of all that you’re supposed to BE THERE FOR. (Whether that be a vote of a Person, or a Nation.) Have you ever heard that phrase “NEVER AGAIN”? And does it ACTUALLY MEAN ANYTHING to you?

I grew up with that sh*t, Man. The wood-panels I mean; unfortunately not these chicks pictured here. I remember bangin’ one o’ my First Ladies in high-school surrounded by that wood-paneling. Remember it like was fives senses of yesterday. Also - maybe ‘cause I’m a life-long movie-fiend - I tend to equate the wood-paneling with watching movies on laser-disc over at my friend’s house. Saw a buncha good ones after school, a few of us. “Pink Floyd’s THE WALL” was our general favorite. Used to watch it after school, many times. And squirrels. This guy who I played football with in high-school had a house with that wood-panel thing covering the whole living-room, and there were tons o’ squirrels out in his yard. The family used to feed ‘em, so the squirrels came around a lot lookin’ for party-favors. It was very strange, but cool. All right. Thanks for this strangely specific trip down memory-lane. Wood-Paneling.

I met Chris Cornell a coupla times. He was a kind and sensitive fella. And Funny. He had humor. And he was a man of honor. We had a smoke and a laugh together. When he died, and I found out, was cause’a one o’ my co-workers told me during the middle o’ the shift, and I just went out on the side o’ the building and broke down cryin’.
