TC activity in these analogs (1972, 1982, 1994, 1997, 2015) was greatly reduced across the MDR, Gulf, and Caribbean, with best chances for any TC activity off the SE coast and maybe in the far East Atlantic, away from the shear. Also note the westward-shifted and expanded activity in the East Pacific, with more threats to Hawaii.
This fits pretty well with what I would expect this season, at this range.
