@plasma_node It’s just an imported map taken from league and a button to trigger vfx. The vfx is nice but it’s not a full game made from scratch. Some of the replies a tad dramatic

Reporter: Some are concerned NVIDIA’s DLSS 5 will make games look worse or homogeneous. In our Q&A today, Jensen Huang responded: “They’re completely wrong… you can fine tune the generative AI to your artistic style… if you want cartoon, toon shader, made of glass… it’s up to you. It’s not post processing at the frame level. It’s generative control at the geometry level. This is very different than generative AI. It’s content control generative AI.”

Some Roblox devs spend more time organizing their code than getting players. Clean code doesn’t matter if no one’s playing your game. Players never see your file structure. Disregard this if you are making a big game or template!

I would add to that and say that even games that have somewhat of a realistic art style definitely have a charm to them in their flaws and the fact that they look like a game. DLSS5 is cool tech but a lot of people respect intentional art

DLSS5 definitely makes a lot of stuff look more 'real' but that's not necessarily always the goal. We've been purposely making games that don't look real for a long time. There are devs who are still working with art styles that look 'dated' because that charm is important

There are obviously details being added in these demos. It's not just a colour filter on the rendered image. By definition it is definitely 'changing the characters'. Is it changing the underlying model? Of course not but this is just semantics

You can use the quadratic formula to make homing missiles properly lead and hit their target. I've used this in games for like a decade. I wish they'd use examples like that in math class. Give practical/fun examples. I hated math b/c it was too abstract. Gamedev made it fun.

If you’ve been programming for years it can be hard to start using agents but if you let it augment your workflow the knowledge you have is still a boon. Being able to review, understand, and modify AI output is obviously superior to not understanding anything that it’s creating
