@Zeev81309559 Bullshit. When you discuss with people that think Israel shouldn't exist for whatever reason, their arguments over any issue are heavily biased, will believe anything bad, it's beyond naive. The enemy don't stop to ask your opinion, before shooting.

Criticizing Israel is not antisemitic. Mentioning Israel was attacked first and suggesting better responses = criticism Omitting the attacks and saying 'Israel is killing people' = propaganda and antisemitism Context separates the two.

Canada imported a LOT of European immigrants after WWII who had regressive ideas on Jews. But it was made very clear to them that the price of admission to Canada was taking these views to the grave. The modern-day immigrant from the Islamic world, by contrast, encounters whole university departments endorsing every single Jew-hating grievance fantasy they can imagine.

@SpencerGuard 857 is a very precise value. Not a rounded planning number, like 850, but a prime number. Curious what threat models or operational assumptions drove that figure. Thanks, @SpencerGuard.

"Elektronika 5" digital watch, USSR, 1980.... The Elektronika series of digital watches became one of the Soviet Union’s most widespread consumer electronics products during the late 1970s and 1980s. Produced by state-run factories across the USSR, models such as the Elektronika 5 reflected Soviet efforts to compete with the rapidly growing Japanese digital watch industry led by Casio, Seiko, and Citizen. Most Elektronika watches used LCD displays and included features such as alarms, stopwatches, calendars, backlighting, and electronic melodies. Some models even incorporated simple programmable functions. Despite lagging behind Western and Japanese miniaturization technology, Soviet watches were known for durability and relatively low cost within the Eastern Bloc. By the 1980s, digital watches had become highly desirable across the Soviet Union, where imported electronics were scarce and often prohibitively expensive. Soviet factories produced millions of electronic watches annually during the decade. The Soviet electronics sector employed an estimated 3 million workers by the mid-1980s, yet the USSR still imported significant amounts of semiconductor technology because it struggled to match Western microchip production capabilities. © Reddit #archaeohistories

How many Roman cities survived the Dark Ages collapse? Comparing a database of 405 Roman cities to a database of medieval cities, we can see that around 33 Roman cities survived as cities into the 8th century. The rest — around 372 (92%!) — were destroyed or depopulated to become small towns or settlements.

This small limestone tablet, barely the size of your hand, may be the oldest piece of Hebrew writing ever discovered: 🪨✍️ Found at Tel Gezer in 1908, the Gezer Calendar dates to the 10th century BCE — the era of King Solomon. It lists the agricultural seasons of ancient Israel in seven simple lines: harvest, planting, flax, barley, wheat, pruning. It reads like a farmer's almanac. But it's so much more than that. It's proof that ordinary Israelites were literate. That Hebrew was a living, written language 3,000 years ago. That the people of the Bible weren't legends — they were farmers, scribes, and neighbors who kept track of their seasons just like we do. The Gezer Calendar now sits in the Istanbul Archaeological Museum, a quiet artifact that rewrites everything we assume about ancient literacy in the ancient Near East. Via: Hidden Tribe

Many people don't understand the scale @SecWar is demanding. The United States has built less than 40,000 cruise missiles, ever, since the Army asked the Dayton-Wright Company to manufacture an Aerial Torpedo in 1917. The more time passes, the fewer we make and the more they cost. Leaders like DepSecWar Feinberg and @USWREMichael are actually responding to foreign threats and giving clear demand signal that is bringing billions of dollars of private capital into solving this problem. Now America will manufacture more cruise missiles in the next three years than the last 30 years combined, at a fraction of the cost. We are in the middle of hiring for Barracuda production at Arsenal-1 starting later this year, please hit us up if this mission is one you can be passionate about.
