My North Star in Congress is fighting for working people in Rhode Island.
I am honored to again have the endorsement of the RI AFL-CIO, which represents 80,000 workers, as I seek another term in Congress to continue that fight.

@MarieForRI @DavidPlace01 My current PCP is with Brown Health, when she retires it will be back to square one again. They seem to overwhelm all of their providers with too many patients as it is.

When someone falls into a situation like yours, they lack ability to be seen for a sick visits, get meds re-prescribed, manage chronic conditions, etc-- and it begs the question of what type of insurance do they have? Does this person utilize urgent care or ER in the meantime (which is a problem of its own). It's a domino effect.
The solution is simple. Find ways to keep primary care providers in business. That means finding revenue streams and reducing reimbursed insurance barriers.

The day the Affordable Care Act passed was one of my proudest moments as president, because it meant that millions of Americans would have access to health care, some for the first time. The ACA also prevented insurance companies from denying people with pre-existing conditions coverage, allowed young people under the age of 26 to remain on their parents’ plan, expanded Medicaid, and so much more. But the ACA was always meant to be a first step. We still have to do more to expand access and make health care more affordable for everyone.

Today, the fight continues to lower costs driven up by corporate greed and a Republican majority unwilling to stand with working people over their big pocketed donors.
