The problem is that he’s worried about his own family as a private businessman, his generational wealth and rightly so. Joe doesn’t have the type of business you can just move to the state of your choosing. I’m guessing his net worth around $50M or more 🤷🏻♀️, while he will take a hit, it won’t crush him, he’s not the average small business that may only earn $4M a year, before paying employees, endless taxes, accountant, utilities, supplies, etc etc etc…and only a take home salary of 100-200k salary, who doesn’t wear a suit and just can’t pick up that business to another state for a start fresh. Joe is a registered democrat to stay in the game and have allies, because that’s the nature of Rhode Island, playing the game. I’d be willing to bet he votes republican, at least he spoke out on this disgusting new tax.

1976, just turned 18, voted for Ford. I voted every 4 years…not a life long local political junkie, I barely paid attention to local politics until I moved back to RI December 2008 after being in TN for 3 years. Why do I now, because of Obama, I knew he would ruin everything. He lost in every county in TN and won every county in RI, except Scituate. Obama, Gina as treasurer, Chafee, Gina again as Gov, now McKee..who is the worst Governor of all time, absolutely ruined this state. As far as Almond, I don’t know, I wasn’t paying attention, busy working, raising boys, going to ball games 🏈 🏀 ⚾️ living life, I don’t recall ever hearing a bad thing about him though.

@WallStreetMav The sales tax in Massachusetts is higher than 5%. Rhode Island wants to do the same thing this year and their sales tax is at 7%.

Massachusetts approved a millionaire tax of an extra 4% of income above $1 million in 2022. This is in addition to the 5% state income tax everyone pays. So the wealthy in that state pay 9% on top of their federal income taxes of 37%.
As a result, they are moving to New Hampshire, Florida and other states with no state income taxes

That young Marine in this photo? That’s me. A canine handler in the United States Marine Corps. When a suspicious package was found — everyone else cleared the area. I walked toward it. With my dog. That was the job. You protect your partner. Your partner protects you. That bond is real. This week, the House passed the BOWOW Act — making it a deportable offense for non-citizens to harm law enforcement animals. It passed 228-190. Seth Magaziner voted no. He voted no on protecting the dogs that clear bombs. The dogs that find drugs. The dogs that run into danger so humans don’t have to. I don’t have the words for that. Rhode Island deserves better than Missing Magaziner.

He’s been given everything. He was even anointed to his seat by the media and political complex because he had money.
