@VoidmawGames Dealing with the backend of steam is not the hardest part. The hardest part is coming up with a game people will be excited to buy and play and recommend. Most devs never get a game like that

Fun fact: 75% of indies on Steam only release one game. Which is interesting... because once you ship your first game, youve already done the hardest part. The pipelines exist, connections are made, lessons are learned. A second project in theory, should be easier to produce.

@ajordazdev @LudensLudonauta Ah youre using fun to mean noteworthy or exciting. Youre saying good games are noteworthy or exciting. I was pointing out that there are good games that dont excite people, it makes them sad or contemplative. Noteworthy is harder to disagree with though, touche.

@BluePinStudio1 @LudensLudonauta On the contrary, I'm using one of the 3 definitions of the word Fun according to the Oxford English Dictionary. The OED defines Fun as: Noteworthy or exciting activity, esp. when providing entertainment for onlookers; action. Sometimes used with ironic force.

@ajordazdev @LudensLudonauta I think youre operating under your own definition of the word fun. Its important we try to use words according to their definitions otherwise stuff like this will happen. If you meant engagement, say engagement.

@ajordazdev @LudensLudonauta Sometimes they can tell you a sad story about love and loss. Not every game is sunshine and rainbows. Fun is merely one possible thing to focus on as a developer.

Siege was dead because it had 80,000 concurrent. Helldivers II is the most popular game in the world because it has 40,000 concurrent. The Finals is respectably niche because it has 20,000. Marathon is dead because it has 55,000 concurrent. All of this shit is so stupid bro.

I declare myself mortal enemy to all those Avatar World content creators on YT making videos about pregnant kid characters, love triangles and adult themes in freaking kid's videos! It's been a daily battle blocking these idiots from my kid's feed.

@georgebsocial Is getting 10,000 people to spend $15 on a game trivial? Isnt that reserved for only the highest quality games?

@ScottApogee @JesterJum People in the 15th century that lived to old age like John of Gaunt and Humphrey Duke of Gloucester died at late 50's. The upper tier most taken care of people raaaaarely exceeded 60. Those had nothing to do with infant morality

Sanitation and antibiotics represents most of the gains, which helped eliminate tons of early childhood deaths, for example, and the deaths of moms during childbirth. But people who lived into their 60s, 70s and 80s back then were generally far healthier than people of those ages nowadays.

Average lifespan 10,000 years ago: 30-35 Average lifespan in 1400: 30-35 Average lifespan in 1900: 30-35 Average lifespan in 2025: 74-75 Eating "organic" does not drastically increase your lifespan. In all of human history, organic food was the ONLY option until very recently. Wanna know what does make a drastic impact? Having access to effective medicine (antibiotics, etc...) Am I saying you shouldn't eat healthy? Absolutely not! I eat healthy because I feel better and I like looking good naked 🤷 I am just tired of the community who thinks "organic" food will cure everything and let you live to 120 years old. This is gonna piss a lot of people off but I don't really care. The numbers don't lie.
