@IndieCurator Price it accordingly to the genre norms and quality. If you think the game is as-good as the genre leader, price it at their price. If better, price it higher. Etc. Pretty straight forward.

Pricing an indie game might be one of the hardest decisions a developer has to make 🎮 You can spend years building something… Then suddenly you have to choose: $4.99? $9.99? $19.99? Too high, and players may hesitate. Too low, and years of work can feel undervalued. So how do you actually decide? Development time? Game length? Market averages? Player expectations? Or the emotional value of what you created? I’d love to hear real pricing stories from indie devs. #IndieDev #GameDev #IndieGaming

Nobody will cares about ai or not in a few years. Ai will not go anywhere and even the avatar dude made it clear he will use ai for the next Avatar movie. He didn't said ai clear, but his wording to look for options to reduce costs it will be clearly ai. Iam atm looking into ai and how it can help me, also played a bit around with comfyui and it's not so easy how people think if u run it local and don't use chatgpt or so.

Something I never see discussed, is how much your personality type matters in game development. Not only in terms of success, but with the games you make as well. Here's my top 5 personality types best for making games: 1. INTP 2. INTJ 3. ENTP 4. ISTJ 5. ISTP

@AdamCYounis Adamcyounis says elden ring is not a game. The concept of exploring, killing, leveling up, finding loot, dying, getting stronger, overcoming bosses, solving puzzles is not a game.

There's no rule saying that the experiences you play on PlayStation or Steam have to be "games". Animal Well and Elden Ring aren't "games" either. If you like Mixtape as an interactive text, then it's succeeding at being what it is.

I’m having a BLAST finishing up Twisted Tower. There is NOTHING better than making a game that is straight out of your heart. The game means a lot to me and I love it.

@BeanJuiceStudio A combination of two things. Too many people who see it, don't want it. Too many people who try it, don't recommend it to others.

@xowiacain @jogamedev I wouldnt be so sure that "nobody develops a game that they don't think is fun" some people have low self esteem and high dicipline, so they can finish stuff they think sucks

@jogamedev 1. Nobody develops a game they don't think is fun.. 2. If it is a duplicate game there is no motivation to show people around the world.

There are 4 simple questions that determine if your indie game will succeed but they can’t be answered by you: 1. Is it enjoyable? (Obviously) 2. Does it offer something that hasn’t been done better by another game? 3. Does it look good enough to try? 4. Have people heard of it? The answers to these questions tell you what actions you need to take to increase your odds of success

Setting up a Steam page feels like it takes way longer than it should, so I made a little tool to quickly compose and arrange all the Steam Capsules that you need to launch your storepage. All you have to do is drag in your base assets and then you can rearrange and scale them for each capsule. What used to take me an hour now takes 5 minutes. I'm making this tool available for anyone who wants it.
