@SydneyLWatson @Robotink3 How can you genuinely say that even if you don't like the writing the decisions? There's so much more to the game; art direction, music, free Valhalla DLC etc. Definitely not a "waste of time".

I will die on the hill that Ragnarok absolutely obliterated both Kratos and Freya's personalities so they could give us this retarded fairytale alliance between the two. Freya would have never forgiven him for killing her son. And Kratos would never have softened to the extent where he said gay shit like this. Whatever character development Kratos had in 2018 GOW made a degree of sense. This shit doesn't.

@WebHead2D I love the series dearly man but the combat is not at all anything special. You spend 90% of the game doing the same 3-5 combos with little variation in death animations. Where God of War shines is how it makes you feel when you swing the axe or chaos blades. And that’s fine!

@TiimoTP Or they just prefer the older God Of War games? They are two completely different games, and not everyone liked the 2018 God Of War. Also, GOTY means very little these days.

@NocturnusAnime There's plenty of combat in these games, there's a roguelite DLC of nothing but combat. You can have cutscenes, QTEs and cool combat still be a good game. Bayonetta?

That's all cutscene, retard. Oh, right, you fuckers that invaded our hobby because of The Last of Us and Covid just need "aura" key jingling to be entertained. We used to play games that required you to get good AND had cool shit that wasn't most of the game happen during cutscenes. @BraidzMCau @ViolaLe_Hanna Punisher Season 1 episode 9. Here's another. It's easy to make literally anyone look bad with a camera. It's called angle, lighting and timing. Mid speech is usually game over.

I finished Resident Evil Requiem for the first time. To keep things fresh and interesting, since I also agree with the general consensus that this is one of the best Resident Evil games ever made, I’m going to start with the things I didn’t care for. 1. No matter how well it’s done (and it’s done very well) there will always be a slightly off juxtaposition of switching between two characters that play so differently, especially if they’re played in different perspectives. 2. Bosses in Requiem are…fine. They’re never bad, but they’re never anything you have not seen before. Certainly not new and inventive. 3. There’s an argument to be made that Requiem honors the remake versions of its history rather than the original games that kicked everything off. 4. There are some moments, particularly in Leon’s portion of the game that feel like they linger on a bit longer than they should. This is also coupled with the fact that much of Leon’s campaign feels like they’re taking another stab at RE6, but actually doing it correctly. It’s very flashy, which once again can feel at odds with how much more substantive Grace’s sections feel. These issues I feel are greater than “nitpicks”, but honestly they do little to detract from the phenomenal experience Resident Evil Requiem offers as a whole. It feels like this package is the culmination of Capcom’s learnings with the franchise over the last 10 years. They’ve brought all of their best, and left the worst behind. Grace Ashcroft immediately shot up to a top 5 RE character and was portrayed with an immense amount of emotion and range. We’ve already seen our first voice acting nominee for The Game Awards later this year. Her segments represent some of the best moments of survival horror this series has ever delivered. The personalities of the undead as they continue to do what they did in their previous life was a genius way to bring a very common video game enemy forward. Leon, on the other hand exists as a power fantasy and a reprieve from the horrors you’re experiencing as Grace. I loved the moment to moment action of going through these spaces as a one man army, even if it never felt quite as satisfying as his best moments in Resident Evil 4. I personally feel that Requiem is fan service done right. It calls back on the franchise’s history in ways that make sense while never being afraid of carving out its own identity. The narrative Requiem puts forward may be the best in terms of holding your attention and keeping you on the hook to find out what happens next. The entire cast delivers and it’s hard not to feel satisfied by the journeys end. The ending boss fight hit extra hard for me, because I had just finished RE3 remake hours prior. If you know you know. If time is kind to any one aspect of Requiem I think it will be that it was a victory lap for a publisher that is at the peak of their powers. It’s rare to receive a product that so deeply understands exactly what its fan base wants and manages to deliver with flying colors. I think this will be an entry we’re discussing with the likes of RE2 and RE4 for many decades to come. If there’s one word to describe how Capcom’s latest efforts makes me feel about the modern day AAA gaming space, it’s hope.

In middle school three black kids stomped on my face and put me in the icu. None were arrested for this and as of our late 20s two of them had been arrested for some form of homicide.
Frank McCormick@CBHeresy

I was a public school teacher in the hood for 11 years, and I know this type of kid. The type that would smack the kid sitting in front of him, tell the teacher “IDGAF” when corrected, and ruin an entire year’s worth of learning for the entire class. His special education teachers would describe him as “actually very smart with a lot of potential,” despite him failing every class and scoring a 9 on the ACT. There would be countless meetings with him and his mom and the social workers, psychologists , and principal would speak in soft voices and nod and smile when the kid told them he wants to be a “doctor.” They’d design all sorts of ridiculous accommodations that give him ample room to behave however he wanted and terrorize his teachers and peers with minimal consequences. Teachers would spend the entire class trying to reign in his behavior, and when they called security to remove him, they’d have to evacuate the entire class first. He’d rarely receive any consequences. The principal would reprimand the teachers for “not building a relationship with him” and accuse them of “singling him out because he was black.” As a result, they’d give up and his behavior would escalate. If he was really bad, he’d get a time out in a special room where he’d sit on his phone and tell the supervisor to “shut the fuck up” if they said anything. Maybe he’d have to partake in a “peace circle” if he became violent. He’d eventually get “socially promoted” to his senior year and there would be a massive effort to get his credits recovered, mostly by pressuring teachers to give him alternative assignments and 50% for the work he didn’t do. He’d walk down the graduation stage and everyone would cheer, and he’d probably do something embarrassing like give the finger to the audience. As a young adult, he’d walk the city behaving exactly as he did in school because he’d been socialized to learn there are zero consequences for his behavior. Depending on the city, he’d probably get similar treatment from the cops and public afraid of creating a public scene that would lead to riots in their city. One day, he’d snap, and do something like this. And only then, would everyone act surprised, as if this wasn’t largely in part due to how our public schools negatively socialize and enable the behavior of animals that should be locked up or institutionalized as teenagers.
