@MrDanielBuck I find it interesting/annoying how there’s so much content out there about how to be a good teacher or what makes a good teacher or best practices in a classroom yet nothing about makes a good administrator. It’s wild what some of these admin get away with.

A lot of administrators out there who talk a good game about “supporting teachers” but are weak on discipline or crumple the second there’s the slightest parental pushback

Oop! I actually watched this so you don’t have to. Here are my takeaways: 1) The “money” Republicans are stuck in 2011, which was the last time either party had a super majority in the Texas House. 2) The way that they used the power that they had in 2011 was *so* unpopular that they lost 16 seats in 2012 and haven’t received a super majority since. 3) Despite this - the vocal few who either don’t understand how government works or hope that YOU don’t - keep acting like Democrats run the House. 4) This is false. Absent a super majority, you really do need to work with the Democrats to have any semblance of a successful session. 5) The citizens who live in the 62 districts with Democrat representatives also deserve to have their voices heard, their bills brought to a vote, and their legislative needs met. 6) @RogersForTexas was done dirty, yall. 7) Even “working with the democrats,” @Burrows4TX has overseen a legislative session that has completely screwed over teachers, students, parents, Vets, seniors, small business owners AND property tax payers. Honestly, quite a feat. And if you’ve gotten this far, I will leave you with this clip. When I went to vote on the first day of early voting last October, my opponent was at the polling location. I had never met him before so I took the opportunity to speak with him. The utter dismissiveness and disdain that this man had for me, as a constituent sharing my legitimate concerns, lit a fire under me so hot that I walked away from that conversation determined to take his job. Because he doesn’t represent me. He doesn’t represent YOU - none of them do. My opponent’s last TEC filing was 98% PAC money. I suspect that his Republican colleagues fall in the same category. Y’all, they don’t work for us. I know that I have a dirty D behind my name, but can we please put that aside and pay attention this election? Because this is not what ANY of us signed up for - and there’s only one thing we can do to change it. VOTE. THEM. ALL. OUT. 2026 is coming - and the fight starts NOW.
