this is insane.
yes the work is wild. but this mechanic is brilliant. starts as a 1/1, every hour - edition size doubles up to 64. refunds a portion of your spend based on where the edition count ends up.
i cannot wait to use this. excellent work @benstraussphoto
and, yes i bought a 1/1.

i lost a lot of time yesterday withdrawing my nfts from niftygateway and was worried i'd lost my mask forever
tldr: use bulk withdraw & wait 2-3 hours
what worked in the end:
- trying to withdraw the mask individually failed, would just redirect to sam's custom page on ng
- used the bulk transfer method, failed due to missing tax information wtf
- had to input my postal address (real one!), to get around that, failed first 2 tries
- thankfully i had $1.50 in my nifty account to pay for transaction, otherwise you have to go through credit card fuckery
- initiated the bulk withdrawal: got "Purchase Failed" emails (had 5 nfts in there)
- 90 mins later and it still says "0 NFTs withdrawn"
- refreshed my profile page, says nfts no longer in nifty account...
- shows they are in my marka.eth wallet, but they're not!
- an hour after that, i get a "Bulk Withdrawal Completed"
- mask is safu

@rocktoshi21 quantum takes down bitcoin as a store of value because we end up freezing satoshi's coins, then its usecase turns to jpegs 🤔

Complexity creates attack surface.
Bugs → hacks → losses → value destruction.
In an adversarial environment, that’s fatal.
Ordinals and Runes have no smart contracts by design, eliminating an entire class of risk.
That simplicity is a big advantage.
That’s why I’m confident in Ordinals, and why Bitcoin-native DeFi could outlast more complex systems, if it gets the non-technical pieces right.

@punk5185 If any corporate / institutional etc maintenance is needed - it would mean the space has failed. We have multiple examples to the contrary. All intermediaries are doomed in the long term - this is simply how it goes. Eventually art is the only thing that matters :)

Big backend updates to both BurnedPunks and MuseumPunks today. Mostly invisible to you dear viewer but for me it's monumental.
Until now both were running on wordpress with custom themes and even though the sites are rarely updated they needed constant updates for security patches and such. In realizing that was the old way, we (Claude and I) embarked on the new way.
Now both sites are built from .md files hosted on github, using 11ty and cloudflare. Future updates are just a new punk number .md file or pull request on text edits. Boom.
You can check the repos here:
github.com/seanbonner/Bur…
github.com/seanbonner/Mus…
and of course both sites still running smooth af
