How are we this far into the industry, with every AI tool at our disposal, and still so bad at PR and comms? Asking for everyone who keeps stepping in their own poo.

Fair point. But maybe this is the more important question: what kind of goodwill is more durable over time? A brandcoin like $REKT is basically tokenized business goodwill — founder credibility, execution, attention, buybacks, burns. An art-linked token is closer to tokenized cultural goodwill — scarcity, historical relevance, status. Historically, business brands have been far easier to monetize at scale: Apple alone is valued by Kantar at about $1.3T as a brand, while the entire global art market did about $57.5B in sales in 2024. So yes, brandcoins may monetize faster. But culturally important art can outlast brands. The real question is which type of goodwill remains relevant and economically believable in Web3 over time.

This was my suspicion. Changed the analysis posted above by A LOT! Don't get me wrong, I buy into the memecoin thesis BUT ONLY if the underlying meme can maintain cultural relevance. More interesting to me is the emergence of Brandcoin like $rekt which is basically a memecoin tied to an emerging brand... still no economic participation guaranteed but Rekt Brands has continued to buy back $rekt with profits as well as launch burn initiatives... not equity, but a side bet on the success of @osf_rekt and his brand. x.com/osf_rekt/statu…

Let’s do the math. Assuming an @XCOPYART 1/1 is worth a conservative $300k, the 24 XCOPYs alone imply a value of $7.2m — or 3.6x the current market cap of $WHALE. And that is before even counting other major 1/1s in the vault, including works by @pakwashere @Coldie @Hackatao etc. So why is $WHALE still priced like this? Probably because the market either doesn’t know, doesn’t care, or doesn’t trust the valuation. My suggestion is simple: sell one XCOPY in a public auction and distribute the proceeds to holders. One real sale with real price discovery could do more than a hundred posts. Forever @WHALEMembers X @collective_flux ✊🏻
Intooishen@intooishen

24 1/1s by @XCOPYART in the @WHALEMembers vault and the token trades at $2M atm 🙌

Totally forgot to post this earlier — but I’m super happy to finally have a „Rainbow Grid“ by @kimasendorf in the collection 🌈 Released in December 2021, the series consists of only 54 NFTs. The collection is not only very early in Kim’s Ethereum journey and extremely small, but also simply beautiful imo. A minimal grid becomes the framework for a real-time generative system where colors unfold through simple algorithmic rules. I might be wrong, but I believe Rainbow Grid may have been Kim’s first generative art collection minted on his own Ethereum smart contract, which makes it especially relevant. If so, this is where it all began. ☝️ Happy to finally have one. 💎

Counter-question: what does it actually mean to own an NFT at all? The image is public. Everyone can see it, share it, and experience it without asking the holder. So NFT ownership was never about exclusive possession in the physical sense. What you really own is provenance, status, and market exposure. And once you accept that, fractional exposure is not as absurd as it may sound at first.

That’s a very deep question about ownership in the blockchain economy — thanks for asking. A responsible $WHALE team member could probably answer this better, but here is my take: holding a token in Web3 does not automatically mean owning a direct legal claim on the underlying assets. It usually means you control the token itself onchain — and then everything depends on what rights, governance, and enforcement mechanisms are actually attached to it. So in the case of $WHALE, I would not say holders directly own the 1/1s in a strict legal sense. At best, they have indirect economic exposure that depends on the DAO structure, the integrity of the people in charge, and the proper functioning of the multisig and governance process. If those mechanisms work well, you can argue that holders have something like partial economic participation in the vault. But if the assets were lost, mismanaged, or removed, I doubt most holders would have a strong direct legal claim to recover “their share” in a traditional sense.
