@GrantPaulsen @P_ConnerJr Yeah that’s what we did last year and we were the worst defense in franchise history, Jayden still got hurt, and we had the biggest regression in wins in the league. Next.

(5) Even though fans won't love it, drafting a starting left guard would actually be smart. Same with drafting a plug-and-play starting center.
Anything the Commanders do to protect Jayden Daniels is an investment worth making. With the left tackle, right guard and left tackle spots in good hands, there are only two positions where Washington doesn't have a stalwart waiting in the wings.
Could Chris Paul or Brandon Coleman have a big season at guard? Sure. Might Nick Allegretti be the answer at center? Possibly. But taking a stud at either position would be practical. I just wouldn't take a IOL at seven because it feels like that would be a reach.

@kenyanmcduffie You want to be praised for going to 4 parts of a city in one day?

@IanMcMathUSA @RepMcCormick In exchange for statehood and an additional 2 seats in the senate? Sure. That makes sense.
English

@RepMcCormick Swamp tentacles have had their way with noble Virginia for far too long!

@RepMcCormick Vote "Yes!' for retrocession :). we need to get this on the ballot for a state referendum.

@bricef99 @LeadingReport They can’t fast track to the Supreme Court until there’s a judgment recorded. State cases can’t start in the Supreme Court. That’s why this happened.
English

@LeadingReport Circuit judges shouldn’t decide these things in my opinion, something like this should be fast tracked to the Supreme Court. I’m happy with the verdict, but I still think this should be a Supreme Court decision.

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav What? I’ve maintained the focal point of my entire argument from the very first post: this is all a result from Trump trying to do the same thing out of election term in Texas.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav You keep moving the goalpost. It's really sad to watch the mental gymnastic you are doing in real time. If your whole argument hinges on somebody else doing the wrong thing, that's a weak argument. You need to go back to kindergarten since you lack a basic moral compass.
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav I completely agree with you on that point. No it should never be ok. But should the Democrat states just not respond and lose 5 seats to Texas when Texas just defied the legal standard? It’s irrational to think that.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav I'm not saying it's ok. It wasn't. What I am saying is it's a narrowminded justification when you look at the issue on a national scale. It wasn't ok when Texas did it but since they did it, it's now ok for Virginia to do it. So, does that mean since Virginia did it, Florida can?
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav You’re still not conceptualizing that Texas started this by redrawing out of term (mid-decade). Texas didn’t do what democrats have done. I really thought you understood that point. I suppose I overestimated.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav I used your own argument against you to show you how absurd it is. If you're too dumb to see that, that's on you. My "How dare Texas do what democrats do." was literally me making fun of your thought process which I was paraphrasing as a joke.
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav Your whole point has been that gerrymandering shouldn’t be justified, only condemned. Then you flipped immediately to justifying it Texas doing it which only makes the argument that Virginia is justified in doing it which has been my entire point…
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav Once again. I used your own damn argument against yourself. You said it was justified for Virginia to do it because of Texas so I pointed out that Texas used the same justification. You're making a fool out of yourself
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav What? Your original argument was literally “how dare Texas do what Democrats do.” You just switched your argument after realizing that Virginia is doing what Texas did. Go back and read your tweets. You literally just contradicted yourself.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav My argument is no states should be allowed to do it. I've been consistent. The thing is if you want to say Virginia is allowed to do it like Texas, they maybe Virginia shouldn't gerrymander their state worse than Texas. You're playing dumb rn it's obvious.
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav That’s my whole point. Virginia did the same thing because Texas ignored the standard legal process. Do you really expect the Democrat states to just sit back and let it happen? Is your argument really that Virginia shouldn’t be able to do the same thing as Texas?
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav Ok but one could argue that Virginia did the same thing by ignoring the standard legal process. No matter what, using Texas as a justification is a narrow minded view when you look at the issue on a national scale and is a weak minded argument.
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav I use the scenario in Texas as a pivot point in the history of gerrymandering. Attempting to redraw the map out of term threw the rules out of the window and sparked the reaction we’re seeing now. I’m not justifying gerrymandering itself. I’m justifying the cause and effect.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav It is a bipartisan issue. But you are using the other parties gerrymandering in states like Texas as a justification. I just pointed out that your justification is invalid by showing you who gerrymanders more. I have done nothing but condemn it while you try to justify it
English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav 6/10 of the top 10 most gerrymandered states are democrats… one state away from an even split… acting like this isn’t a bipartisan issue is naive.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav Who doesn't understand the situation? 6/10 of the Top 10 most gerrymandered states are Democrats. Democrats have more seats gerrymandered nationally than Republicans. What Virginia did was wrong. 51% decided to wipe out 40% of the Commonwealths's representation

English

@JoelRepass @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav If you don’t understand the distinction between those states and what Texas attempted to do, you don’t understand the situation. Both parties are drawing aggressive maps in their respectively controlled states. Calling foul only when it doesn’t go your way is a joke.
English

@HailingHogs @MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav California in 2024: 38%(R), 58%(D). Current Map: 17%(R) 83%(D). New York in 2024: 43%(R), 56%(D). Current Map: 27%(R) 73%(D). Oh yeah how dare Texas try to gerrymander like Democrats do. You guys are total morons it's crazy you drink the kool-aid
English

@MagaCurmudgeon @WallStreetMav Do you realize that this is all a result from Trump trying to do the same thing out of election term in Texas?
English

@WallStreetMav Anyone who thinks the Dems will ever voluntarily give up stolen Congressional seats is taking really good drugs. Remember, it's only bad if Republicans do it, and nothing on this planet is worse than Trump. To them, even the mullahs in Tehran are better than Trump.

English

@MayorBowser There’s no penalty for breaking curfew. You can’t just implement a curfew and act like the problem is fixed. Deter the behavior through actual consequences.
English

While I am pleased that the Council advanced the permanent juvenile curfew legislation, their continued inaction on extending the juvenile curfew through the spring and summer leaves our city without a critical tool for keeping our neighborhoods safe and free from disorderly behavior. Doing nothing is not an option. The community is expecting their government — and we have a responsibility to our residents, businesses, and young people — to take action.
I urge the Council to act quickly and pass an extension of the juvenile curfew.
