We did it. The first goal I wrote down for Maxed AI was 100 downloads. Then $100 in revenue. Today, I can gladly say we hit my third goal: $1000 in MRR. It’s not much, but this one feels good. Just talked to someone who has 200M downloads across 2 different apps on the App Store. Has never spent a dime on paid marketing or UGC. Just apps with insane viral features that users WANT to share. Makes you think.

What’s our thesis at Maxed AI? @alexaaronlab and I believe with every fiber of our being that lifting is the single best thing you can do for your body and mental health. But not enough people lift, for two reasons: 1.They don’t know where to start 2.They quit before seeing results Maxed solves both. AI builds your workout plan, personalized to your goals, with descriptions and videos for every exercise. A reminder that MRR isn’t everything. Someone who offers weekly subscriptions of $10 technically has $45 of MRR on @RevenueCat and @Superwall But most of these subscriptions are canceled within the first hour

The most valuable lesson I’ve learned throughout this process came from my dad. Talk to everyone. Reach out to people that have done this before. If they don’t answer, message them again. All conversations are good conversations. The person who taught me just about everything about distribution chirped Maxed AI’s Instagram. I messaged him anyway.

Don’t listen to anyone that promotes “Lazymaxxing” in the app space. Building something real takes time, energy, thoughtfulness, and capital. No successful business was built by anyone lazy. If you want a quick cash grab, go lazymaxx. If you want a real business, be prepared to grind. It’s the best part of it all.

Messages like these suck. Everyone on this app (including me) only shows the good. The MRR, the new users, the new ads angles that are killing it. The brutal reality is that some point are going to hate your product. 2 years ago, I probably would’ve been so butt hurt by this message that I would’ve never answered. But understanding WHY is incredibly important. I would sit down with every user of mine to understand exactly what they’re struggling with, what they don’t like, and what confuses them because that’s how great products are built.

We are in the .01% of builders. Don’t let the X echo chamber fool you into believing that everyone is building an app right now. I just met up with some cousins of mine that don’t know what anthropic is. Now is the time to build- there are plenty of users out there.
