I'm excited to announce that Tangent is joining @superwall. About 1.5 years ago, I started Tangent in a random coffee shop in Amsterdam. In the early days, you filled out a Typeform and paid a couple hundred dollars for a single paywall design. What started as that scrappy service has grown into a multiple seven-figure ARR business with a 20+ person team, working with some of the biggest apps in the world — over 5,000 unique experiments and 20,000+ paywalls designed in just a year and a half. Along the way, one thing became clear: monetization is where great apps are won or lost. Every app founder needs better tools AND better expertise to turn a good product into a great business. Superwall shares that vision — to deliver the best monetization tools and services to app founders and help them build billion-dollar apps. Joining Superwall lets us accelerate everything we've been building. Together, we can serve our customers at a level neither of us could alone, combining Superwall's platform with everything Tangent has learned from thousands of experiments. As we head into this next chapter, I want to stop and acknowledge the people behind Tangent, because none of this was ever a solo effort. To everyone who has worked at or with Tangent along the way — it's been a privilege to build with you. So much of what Tangent became traces back to your ideas and your effort. To Andy Carvell, Thomas Petit, David Barnard, the MAU Vegas team, the Business of Apps team, and so many others who supported me throughout my career and helped me get here. To William Sidell, Dillon Morgan, Will Kent, Zach Yadegari, and our other early customers, who believed in Tangent and gave it a shot before there was much to bet on. To Evelin, who has supported me through every stage of this. And lastly to Jake and Brian, for believing in me, in Tangent, and in our mission from the start. The journey continues.

We're also finally sharing we raised $7.5M (not recently, we just never really announced it 🙃) We were profitable before this deal, and we're evem more profitable now. There's also an Editor MCP so you can hook up Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or any MCP-compatible agent directly to the paywall you're editing. made a new mobile app a few months ago: - marketing is fully automated with @postbridge_ - paywalls designed with @Superwall i noticed the conversion rate actually went UP when i increased my prices… it’s such a cool feeling to build something and then not touch it and continue to make a bit of money from it. if this isn’t “passive income” then i don’t know what is.

We looked at whether the “Always decline” refund preference actually loses effectiveness over time as more refund requests come in. Based on 15 months of data from one of our biggest customers doing $30M+ ARR, the trend is very clear. “Always decline” consistently approves about 54% of refund requests, while having no preference set approves around 70%. That gap has not changed over time. Refund preference settings can still meaningfully change outcomes when configured well. With the “Always decline” setting, you can save an extra 20% on refunds.
