Here's the thing, James Gunn shouldn't be running a superhero universe. Superheroes in general are symbols of hope, happiness, fantastical, and the American way... things I don't think James Gunn or Tom King understand or like... merging them is a lethal mistake.

Woman of Tomorrow is straight-up misery porn. Glum, deconstructed, cynical - the exact tone readers are tired of. People want heroes who feel like heroes, not another exercise in emotional exhaustion. This direction is accelerating the drift away from legacy DC titles. #DCComics

The Black Suit for Spider-Man is always a good storyline, when Peter is visibly giving in to his desire to scare criminals and exact justice, more than saving people. Very Batmanesque.
The Symbiotes however are DEFINITELY played out at this point. Everybody AND THEY MOMMA done had a symbiote. Currently even Mary Jane.
They should've stopped with Venom and Carnage.

@PAEasy64 It wasn't the greatest movie in the world. But enjoyed it. Mostly for the acting. I think "Old" (2021) was way worse. Tho the graphic novel looks more intresting.

I thought it was pretty subversive in that it basically showed the guys being gaslit into being inferior versions of themselves. When they didn’t comply, they were killed.
This is portrayed as bad and
a collective awakening of society was needed to show that it was bad.

Before James Gunn’s horrifically awful "Superman," the worst theatrical experience I ever had was M. Night Shyamalan’s 2019 disaster, “Glass.” I didn’t know the “GL” in the title was silent. They sold it as the ultimate male superhero showdown: Bruce Willis’ Unbreakable hero, Samuel L. Jackson’s Mr. Glass, and James McAvoy’s terrifying Horde — all in one movie. What they didn’t tell you? They weren’t there to celebrate their male characters. They were there to kill them. Most of the film takes place in a psychiatric hospital where a smug FEMALE psychiatrist works to convince all three that their powers are just delusions. She’s actually part of a secret organization dedicated to hunting down and eliminating people with real superhuman abilities. In the end: Mr. Glass is murdered by The Horde. The Horde is gunned down by her security team. And David Dunn, the unbreakable hero, is drowned in a shallow puddle by her agents. “Glass” was one of the earliest big-screen flexes of the anti-male, anti-superhero agenda. They spent years building these male characters… just to gleefully execute them on screen. If I ever had respect for M. Night Shyamalan, I lost it that day. And anything he makes today gets an immediate PASS - because I know this asshole hates his male characters.

Thinking about it but Crisis on infinite earth must have been so much hated on by Silver and Bronze Age fans at the time. It may have been their New 52. Would’ve been funny to see the general opinion at the time if the internet existed
