Jarvis, 25, was acquired from Detroit for Rafael Montero last season. He slashed .305/.418/.445 with 20 RBI, 25 runs scored and 15 SB in 17 attempts in 33 games for Triple-A Gwinnett this season.

Framber Valdez claimed he did not hit Trevor Story on purpose.
Valdez plunked Story with the first four-seam fastball he's thrown all season. His explanation was that he used the pitch as a "backup plan" to do something different against Red Sox hitters.

Matt Olson is having a monster year. Leads all of MLB in WAR, RBIs and runs, is atop the National League with 13 home runs and just hit a go-ahead homer to dead center off Andrés Muñoz. Atlanta has the best record in MLB in large part because of Olson.

Heim was DFA’d to make room for Murphy today. If Harris had been available to play defense this week, it might have made sense to keep Heim until Kim is activated. But tough to carry a third catcher when Harris is limited defensively and Dom Smith is best restricted to DH/PH duties
