@bobby01503436 To clarify further, the wing doesn't immediately gain the load after the wing closes, it needs time to do so (about a couple of tenths). Max crashed because the wing closed literally milliseconds before he took the corner

@bobby01503436 The fact that the wing closee is not relevant. The time it takes to close is what matters. On the replay, the wing closed right before the corner. That's bad because the wing needs to regain the load (downforce) for the car to be able to take the corner properly.

As Ant just analysed on sky there wasn’t a rear wing failure it closed as aspected. He lost the rear so maybe he was carrying more speed or something

From the looks of this, he crashed because he took too much of the inside kerb (which I don’t think anyone does at that corner) and It upset the cars balance.
Reports of the rear wing not closing, was a lie.

Commiserations to max & his team at Nurburgring this weekend. Only a few hours to go and the car was suffering wear/damage to the rear - driveshaft/gbox related.
Perhaps they should have been a little more gentle with the car
