@Semilogarithm66 I’m really sorry but I still don’t think you’re getting to my point. Blessings!

Calvinists saying God permitted Adam to pass down to us a nature that is morally unable to seek God Is like saying God permits gravity to pull us down to earth. He didn’t just permit it, he designed it that way.

@Soteriology101 Calvin even would likely not agree with Sproul's interpretation. But I do see that they also emphasize on the means of the gospel as being truly effective in bringing the elect. But 2nd Peter there was truly a universal call and true desire of God for saving all.

Now, some may argue that Peter is referencing the elect who have yet to come to believe, but once again that makes no sense given that God is the one who controls if and when they believe. Why would God express patience or long suffering for the individual if the individual is not in control of whether or not he follows Christ? It does not say that God is patient with His will to regenerate the elect.

@Bashj7 @Soteriology101 @ReformedDoc I do understand the issues with Augustinian Anthropology. But even Calvin did not agree a 100% with him. And Ken Wilson points are very much debatable. Augustinian Anthropology is something I am still doing my research on. I get your interpretation but still not convinced enough

To be honest i don't understand what you're saying. When you isolate 6:44 you can come up your Augustinian pre-supposition. However, in context people hear and learn from the Father through the scriptures. So the reason they didn’t come to Jesus is because they weren’t listening to what God was telling them through the scriptures. To add a little spice to the conversation you're doing the very thing that the early church fought against. en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augustini… John Chrysostom (349 – 407) documented that the Gnostics (Manichæans) had been quoting some of the same proof-texts as Calvinists of today. In his commentary on John 6:44, he states the following: “The Manichæans spring upon these words, saying, ‘that nothing lies in our own power’; yet the expression shows that we are masters of our will. ‘For if a man comes to Him,’ saith some one, ‘what need is there of drawing?’ But the words do not take away our free will, but show that we greatly need assistance. And He implies not an unwilling comer, but one enjoying much succor (assistance).” [1]

@Soteriology101 @Bashj7 @ReformedDoc No problem What is the title I actually do follow your videos for some time and I am very gracious towards opposing views. But I do also see certain misrepresentation though I would always appreciate pushbacks and other people view. Actually interesting and good for diversity.

@Semilogarithm66 Corruption can be passed down from Adam without God designing it to be so?

@Bashj7 @Soteriology101 @ReformedDoc Sure I am going by context, but maybe that not something we can fully go by here. I would even go as far as 10 verses before verse 44 or look at the whole chapter. But LF even admitted to not properly being able to explain verse 44.

@rootcausesleuth God is the author of the process, but humanity is the author of the corruption that persists within that process

@rootcausesleuth God sustains the reproductive process as part of His general providence, allowing humanity to continue after the Fall. This is Primary Causality. But the moral state of the humans produced is the result of their solidarity with Adam (the head of the human race).

@rootcausesleuth First the human is a rational being which distinct it from the things he created ex nihilo. The sinful nature passed down is an 'accident' (I am using the 5 predicable). The differentia is by God. Sin was not the essence of man but was passed down. So this can't apply to gravity

@Semilogarithm66 Who designed each? Who designed how they work? Is there some manner of choice involved in the passing down of this nature? Or does it happen through the reproductive processes that God designed?

@ReformedDoc Read the context. In the previous verse he tells you “the reason” he said this is because he knew from the beginning those who didn’t really believe. This is the reason they weren’t being given to the Son. Same as verse 45. Context kills Calvinism every time.

@12000ak @1984_nate Are you sure their argument is about not having a mind. They do separate "Moral inability" from "Mechanical ability". I think if you disagree with an idea. Still try not to misrepresent the idea.

@1984_nate Spiritually dead = estranged from God. It boggles my mind that they forget we have a mind..... But that's the way it goes with calvinism.....

Jesus said we were like sick people in need of a physician. Being "dead in sin" is clearly metaphorical and not to be taken literally. It's not CORPSE LIKE INABILITY.
Baptist Joshua@BaptistJoshua_

@1984_nate @JCBibleInsights Perhaps you were a holier unsaved person than I was. So you wanted to believe, while totally depraved and a dead corpse in sin. Like a rotting, dead corpse, sunk at the bottom of the sea of sin, AGREEING to be rescued by a Lifeguard.

@rootcausesleuth @allgodschillens @_jonbowlin Saving faith or working faith. James would say faith without work is dead i.e the faith produces good works. Which I why I said the "Just shall live by faith" contrast to we 'justified by faith. Scriptures uses "faith" as something we walk in, just as necessity for justification

@rootcausesleuth @allgodschillens @_jonbowlin First, would be how unbelievers can know truth but because they lack saving or working faith would not come to the knowledge of truth or reject truth like the Greek, it seems as foolishness to them. Secondly would be the just living by the same faith i.e salvation generated faith
