The chase cars are a stop gap stock pump. Tesla is working on scaling supervisor chase drones that can be deployed from the car's frunk for pump videos. The goal now is to reduce the detection rate of Tesla's stock promotions so it looks like a real robotaxi. This can scale.
Gary Black@garyblack00

Everyone should realize that relocating the safety monitor from the Robotaxi to a couple chase cars is not scalable. $TSLA

@TheStreet @MWM76 When the FSD charade runs it's course and becomes a fully evident debacle you will see institutions let retail ride this to zero and cushion their exit. That's why institutions haven't sailed yet. Hoping for one more scam pump before they leave the cult with their Kool aid.

If you assume 20% of $TSLA deliveries for the year would be in Q1, then the 2026 Cathie Wood / Tasha Keeney average Monte Carlo simulation from 2022 would mean Tesla is reporting over 3.75 million deliveries when it reports this week.

For FSD, this was a really dangerous scenario.😱 A huge truck on the left and a closed lane ahead. But FSD handled it perfectly. Source: AE68

@TeslaAaronL TESLA FSD DOES NOT get tired, get drunk, smoke dope, or take medication  look at it's phone, have bad eye sight, get road rage, get easily distracted, drop hot coffee in their lap. IT DOES see well when it's dark, have 8 eyes!!

@TeslaAaronL It looks dangerous to human but for computer that calculates billions of times per second and measures accurately to inches this is nothing.

Absolute Madness!!!! I'll wager everything I have that this Tesla tweet will end up as evidence in a court case about a Tesla FSD crash at some point. A plaintiff's attorney will hold it up and say: "Tesla's own official account promoted a testimonial from a vision-impaired buyer who purchased the vehicle specifically because he believed FSD could drive for him — and Tesla amplified that message to millions." This is reaching genuinely dangerous levels. Consider the chain of events that Tesla just endorsed: an ophthalmologist is allegedly recommending Tesla FSD to a patient who is losing his eyesight, that patient follows the recommendation, buys a Cybertruck specifically for the software, proudly tells on camera that FSD drove for an hour and a half while he never touched the wheel, and Tesla's official account promotes this as a feel-good customer story. All while Tesla's own documentation says FSD is a Level 2 driver-assist system that requires a fully attentive driver who is "responsible for the vehicle at all times." All while NHTSA is running three concurrent investigations into FSD safety. All while we've documented how even autonomous driving experts get dangerously complacent behind the wheel of a Tesla on FSD. If Tesla genuinely believes FSD is safe enough for someone with failing eyesight to rely on, then it should classify FSD as Level 3 or higher and accept the liability that comes with it. But Tesla won't do that, because Level 2 lets it keep the marketing upside while pushing all the risk onto the driver. Promoting this video while maintaining that legal position is madness. It's true that FSD can now drive a few hours, a few hundred miles, even a few thousand miles without critical intervention, but that's nowhere near what you need to be reliable enough for level 4 autonomy. What happens when that critical intervention is needed in a couple of thousand miles, and the driver is not capable of taking over? The dangerous thing now is that you can clearly see the pervasive idea that FSD is more than a driver-assist system is embedded in the Tesla community. The ophthalmologist might know eyes and might be a Tesla owner, but it doesn't mean he has a good grasp of the capabilities of FSD and Tesla promoting the use of FSD for people losing their eyesight is not helping.

🚀After nearly 8 collective years across two stints at @Tesla , last week was the end of an unforgettable chapter for me. I am grateful for the leaders who helped shaped me and the people I met and was fortunate enough to lead along the way. None of this would be possible without you. I know I'm missing some that I've met along the way, but I'm grateful for you all positively representing Tesla and supporting us along the way. Words don't justify what you all mean to me and to driving the mission forward. @SERobinsonJr @JoeTegtmeyer @Skypadusa @GrumpyTesla_. Thanks everyone. Next update coming soon. I'm grateful beyond words!🚀
