The Optimus factory at Giga Texas is growing faster, now 10 column grids wide (~400 to 450 feet in length, N-S or ~130 to 140 m) and growing to the N and S every day. On the S end, land reclamation work continues too, with more fill dirt, Geotextile membranes & the silt fences have been relocated further S along with more tree and vegetation removal. The full extent of the site and ultimate length of the building continues to evolve!

This next version of v14 Lite (v2026.20.6.10) allows you to disable the “press brake pedal” in order to hit the ‘Start Self-Driving’ button. 😎

Never seen the Tesla community this divided. 🥺 On one side: people who read the signals, stay patient, and keep building. On the other: people who feel misled, blame Elon while attacking anyone who still believes. Genuine question: How did we get here? We used to be the ones who held through the noise.

At Giga Texas, the new joint @SpaceX & @Tesla Advanced Technology Chip Fabrication facility foundation shape & size is beginning to emerge, with a defined rectangular excavation area that has had some GeoPiers and now gravel mix being applied while it continues to grow longer on the S end. Based on the original rendering, I expect the full foundation will have the iconic beveled corners just like the main factory, but these have not yet emerged. Rebar cages for footings are already being assembled & some structural steel is on site. More work remains to reconfigure the E WOW yard, recycle center & pipe fabrication workshops along with finishing the massive water retention pond on the S end.

Another new major construction project is underway at Giga Texas near Cortex 2 and I think what we are seeing is the new condensation reclamation plant that @Tesla described in the recent 2025 Impact Report. At Cortex 2, we see water tank supports & a site nearby that cold be for the machinery & equipment for this plant. This is also right next to the two massive cooling towers for Cortex 2. Per Tesla, “as hot, humid outdoor air is conditioned, water condensation results. Typically, this condensate is discarded as wastewater. At Gigafactory Texas, we plan to use this condensate in our cooling towers and process water systems to offset incoming site water. Based on our latest estimates, this could result in 13.6 million gallons of water conserved annually. The cooling towers are the single biggest contributor to water usage in a vehicle factory after paint operations. As water that is used to cool machinery evaporates, it needs to be topped up regularly. The total cooling tower makeup could be offset entirely by non-potable sources such as rainwater or wastewater.“
