@ThisMomSaid @Manhattva @JS_StrngstSldr Not me. I grew up in Roy. I will not be associated with a Gilberto who needs castration.
English

“Roy man’s” real name is,
Gilberto Moises Rivera.
I hate the Utah media so much.
ABC4 News@abc4utah
A Roy man has pleaded guilty to breaking into a house and sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl over a year ago. Learn more: tinyurl.com/36jdnc2w

Disagree. Actions are a consequence feelings, so they are more important than feelings. But, the stories we tell ourselves which generate those feelings are even more important. Our _stories_ drive everything we do, not our feelings. 1/

@stackerco @jonathanplumb And does "world" actually mean planet? I regularly live in my own world...
English

@jonathanplumb If you think there's a significant enough difference to matter between getting a planet and creating worlds, then you're eating crayons! 😉
English

This is hilarious.
One asks if we get our “own” planet (as in, I am the owner).
The other clarifies that we will make new worlds as part of a collective effort, following the pattern Heavenly Father established.
The former allows us to do whatever we want. The latter confines us to God’s system alone.
If you can’t see the difference, you have a genuine reading compression issue, and should probably study until you fix it.

@Utah_Cowboys @OneGoodMic Notice the key words "filled with." I doubt any of us are as filled with that spirit as Nephi was. It's something I strive for as well.
English

@OneGoodMic @StarTether Ironically, Nephi tells us Isaiah is easy to understand “IF” we have the Spirit of Prophecy… AKA: “The Testimony of Jesus.”
I don’t know. Maybe I’m defective. My default is to believe what Nephi actually wrote.
I might just be to simple a “little 🧠” among geniuses.

@hvworlton He needs and wants to be angry and so he needs the church to be the villain. Sad.

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS 'It did not strictly imply absolute flawlessness or ideal excellence in the casual, hyperbolic way it often does today (e.g., "This pizza is perfect!").'
--from looking up the meaning of the word in 1835.
English

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS Also, at the time Joseph Smith received the word "perfect" it 'primarily carried the core sense of "finished," "complete," or "consummate"—meaning something that had all parts or qualities required for its nature or purpose, without defect or omission in that context.'
English

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS Children also understand "like" to mean "familiar" which is why a 5-year-old, with utter confidence, will say "I don't like that" regarding food when they have never seen or tasted that food. We learn over time how to narrow the meaning of "like" to "prefer" or "enjoy."
English

@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS I will refer you back to the following post, which you haven't provided clarity on. There is a commandment to be "perfect." Perfect has multiple meanings. Which meaning applies in the commandment? x.com/i/status/20355…
StarTether@StarTether
@CLURT1847 @BlackBlessedLDS It's seems to be the motivating understanding behind this tweet x.com/i/status/20350… I'm happy to receive correction if flawlessness wasn't your intent. Because the change in dialogue re. perfection is about separating the interpretation of flawlessness from completeness.
English

@StarTether @BlackBlessedLDS My question to you: when did I say so? You find words there are not there and this what interpolation is. Why do you need to convolute plain truth? Oh I know so that you can mingle those philosophies of men.
English

@IronRodWarrior You'll notice that blame is underlying their issue. Every time.

When I turned my ankle in church ball, my bishop told me it was probably sprained. I took his advice as any other reasonable person would and based all my medical decisions on it. Well it was NOT sprained. It was torn and needed medical attention.
I’ll be forever angry he didn’t know my exact diagnosis.

@Utah_Cowboys Also, Nephi could see that spiritual death was likened to physical death, and so he could see a lot of parallels of spiritual things with temporal and emotional things. And he drew those comparisons when he could.
English

@Utah_Cowboys Potentially. It's just an idea.
The concepts of I-It and I-Thou are known ideas (see The Anatomy of Peace and other books), and are mutually exclusive. IMO, the results of an I-Thou perspective are the same results as the Church of the Devil, so they are likely one and the same.
English

@KintsugiJin Beautiful! We each want to control what's happening, to guarantee our success. But the only way to really succeed is to let go of the need for control.
