@NeuterTheDebt @ChristianHeiens I work for a federal contractor in critical infrastructure. Even the "necessary" departments are chock full of unproductive people wasting dollars on useless projects that go nowhere that everyone knows will go nowhere.

Since Trump took office, over 352,000 Federal employees have been fired, resigned, or retired and were not replaced. The Federal workforce is smaller today than at any point since 1966.

@europamusic @TRHLofficial Yes, it does. Food is worth FAR less today than it was in the past. What percentage of an average person's labor must they spend on a loaf of bread today compared to 500 years ago?

@jojceec69 @SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 Florida doesn't even remotely have the same population density as East Asia. I don't know how you people continue to try and make this comparison. Population density = travel demand = income.

@SteveMFlorida @IamSean90 Problem is everyone is comparing it to a failed system in California instead of the very successful systems in East Asia. It's clean and a nice addition but it's really not fast enough for me to prefer it over driving a car. That and most of the time you're gonna have to drive

@Garybjjca @Replicant7777 @VladTheInflator If you can work, then there's no lost earning potential. I know numerous vets that are current working $100k+ jobs while on 100% disability. Vets don't treat it as a substitute for lost earning. It's treated as their just compensation for their service. That's not what it's for.

@Replicant7777 @VladTheInflator I agree the majority is and is likely an overcorrection from how the Vietnam vets were treated. With that said, VA disability is different in the sense that the ratings essentially establishes lost earning potential, so a bit different from social security disability.

@GongYuen39275 @Weltschmerz_7 @mcsquared34 Well, considering you didn't answer the question, then I suppose my point about the economic calculation problem stands. When labor has no value, then the products of that labor also have no value and you have no basis to determine what anything is worth or what is in need.

@Derpsyderp @transcended @adam1trent @bumbadum14 At least property is something intrinsic and real and NOT purely determined by daily market swing. Property is a non-depreciating asset. You can "assign" a value to a car? Whose value? That's the point. That value is ASSIGNED, not from the market which is the only TRUE value.

@TarrickMerdev @transcended @adam1trent @bumbadum14 "Are you going to tell me how much my house is worth? How much my truck is worth?" Tell me you know absolutely nothing without telling me. You pay property taxes (unrealized gains). You can assign value to a car - it's why you can sell it. My goodness.

It's so interesting to hear people say this because it's just not true. - We have the most progressive tax system in the world - 90% of our budget comes from the top 10% of earners - 1/2 of our budget is for UBI and free healthcare to old people over 65. - We spend more per student on free education than any other country on earth - If you make below the median wage you qualify for free food, rent assistance and subsidized health care - If you don't have health insurance you can go to the hospital and get emergency care for free In fact the POOREST people live substantially better lives than the average person.

@ShamashAran @grok Evaluate the relative population densities of Texas and Japan to determine if high-speed rail would have a similar level of demand and resulting operating income in Dallas, Austin, San Antonio, and Houston compared to the Tokaido Shinkansen railway.

Because Liberals aren't actually serious about deploying trains, they are just using these programs for graft and fraud. This was supposed to cost 33 billion dollars, and now is up to 120 billion, and this is all that exists. the Tokaido Shinkansen was built for about 40 billion in today's dollars. If someone can build a dallas/austin/san antonio/houston high speed rail in Texas for 33 billion dollars? I'm all for it. You can't or won't though.

@Derpsyderp @transcended @adam1trent @bumbadum14 Wealth doesn't exist, moron. Are you going to tell me how much my house is worth? How much my truck is worth? Do you get to decide that? This is explicitly why it's UNREALIZED. Never mind forcing people to labor in perpetuity just to pay taxes on what they already have.

@terrakei07 California contains the perfect example of the out-of-touch liberal elitist whose actual real-life problems have been so thoroughly solved that they spend time fabricating new issues in order to give themselves a cause for moral-grandstanding over the rest of us.

@Mr_Joe_Gamer @snowhound208 @juniorkingpp Big chains earn profit through volume and supply chain efficiency, not margins. Those exact chains would LOVE a tipping ban because it would destroy their competition and do nothing to them. Regulation in general pretty much always hurts small business' ability to compete.

@WifeFinance @BarbellFi This is exactly what's wrong with society. There are way too many people who have this inflated view of themselves that nothing but the absolute best of everything is even in consideration. You can certainly get a NICE RV for way, way less than $1M.

@EwoodTerraces @dantypo In the US? Yes. We have far, far more land and people. There are over a million new constructions every year and can't keep up with demand. Higher home quality, loose immigration, declining relationship rates (higher individual home ownership) all add to increased prices.

@dantypo Are the though? Here in England we’re buying and selling the exact same houses our great great great grand parents were. Personally My street was built in the 1940s I think. I don’t think the house got bigger as far as I can tell

@Matthewms97 @dantypo You took 1 thing out of his response and ignored everything else as if that disproves his entire point. Even addressing your response, that means the median home value has only increased 18%. An increase, sure, but certainly not the apocalypse given all the other benefits.

@dantypo The average house size in 1975 was 1535 square feet. The average house size now is 2225. Inflation adjusted price per square foot in 1975 =148. In 2026 it is 175. You guys can keep trying to paint a picture that doesn’t exist but these facts are easily found and available

@BBuildist @dantypo That is also a factor that isn't mutually-exclusive with his point, which is very true. Abysmal and falling marriage and relationship rates has also increased demand as there are fewer family and more individual homeowners.

@dantypo Yes, good point. Having a roof over your head is definitely SEVENTEEN TIMES better than it used to be. The fact that there are 100 million foreigners here competing for homes has nothing to do with it.
