@RhysSullivan @badlogicgames It has 800 users within our org itself on an enterprise partnership. You are underestimating the number of such enterprise users.

PYTHON + RUST. Python inside the sandbox, Python (and some Rust) outside the sandbox. Typescript for frontend developers trying to stay relevant, like Mastra. By the way, the SF bubble is the one place where TS is popular for AI: `openai` package has 53m weekly downloads on PyPI, and 10m on NPM. AND THAT GAP IS WIDENING - used to be 4x, now 5x.

@taylorotwell When are subagents needed in AI SDK - Would it be just a SubAgent Tool that calls a agent?

@taylorotwell AI SDK Streaming seems to be lagging in Octane. Had to change from yield to echo for it and now it's a lot more laggy than it was before.

@threepointone i agree with this so strongly, the amount of functionality that codemode unlocks is insane and untapped right now makes it trivial to do things like workflows, cron jobs, access control scaling AI to orgs, also generative UI is gonna be sick

code mode: let the code do the talking (aka, after w/i/m/p) wherein I ponder the implications of every user having a little coding buddy, and every "app" being directly programmable on demand. sunilpai.dev/posts/after-wi… lmk what you think.

@wesbos It seems the Rails/Laravel framing triggers a lot of folks 😅 Not our intention. The key differentiator is the unified framework + platform DX, which is different from Rails and a bit more like Laravel + Laravel Cloud. It’s also *very* new so it will take some time to mature.

Vite just announced the Laravel/Rails for JavaScript DB, auth, KV, queues, storage, ai ++ React/Vue/Svelte/Solid and Integrates with existing metaframeworks as it's just a Vite plugin The more interesting part is they are launching their own framework with it which feels a lot like tanstack start. Has routing/loaders/actions/islands/ISR and is inspired by Inertia.js By default it's tightly bound to Cloudflare workers — which is where all the bindings come from — and will include deploying without a cloudflare account Uses better auth and drizzle under the hood

@RhysSullivan Seems cool - is executor basically a grep tools instead of loading all tool schemas into context-> Run them using code itself instead of LLM tool call? But instead of the model just emitting a structured JSON tool call, it now has to write TypeScript though?

I'm hoping that the damage to MCP's reputation gets undone this year Being able to dynamically get input from the user for subtool calls is incredible, and since it's a standard any agent that implements it gets to work with this
Rhys@RhysSullivan

The core of this system is MCP elicitation When a destructive action like `await tools.vercel.dns.removeRecord` is called, it triggers an elicitation from the client to approve it More harness should bring support for this one, is an incredibly useful primitive

@paraschopra "Humans are highly attuned to attending to other people in a physical setting" Counterpoint - I'd rather a robot handle my caretaking when i'm older than a real human. Less embarassing.

I think it’s safe to assume that the value of human cognitive labor will likely rapidly decline to zero. In such a world, what skills should you hone? My bet is that any skill that requires showing up in person and taking responsibility will still be in demand. Think sales, politics, leadership, care giving, coaching, teaching, surgery. Humans are highly attuned to attending to other people in a physical setting, and even the best humanoids won’t be able match that in near future.

For the past few months, a small crew got together to overhaul @NotionHQ sidebar / navigation. We called the project "Slippery Slope" :) For anyone who's worked on a similar project knows how hard it is to make any changes to navigation, because it directly impacts how millions of people use your product every single day. To my surprise and delight, the team was able to ship something remarkably better in a matter of weeks. We've been using it internally for some time now, and I cannot imagine going back. We start ramping to users tomorrow, but feel free to reply here, and I'll try my best to turn on early access!

@aarondfrancis Sorry desktop ui. A package with a command would be a nice alternate is what I meant. But I don't mind installing gui if it handles everything somehow. Also, any plans for expanding to use for prod setups like deploying laravel in linux vps? Like a controlled bash script almost.

I've been building Solo for several months, and it's out today! It's a desktop app that manages your entire dev stack. Add a project, Solo detects your processes, and you can start everything with one click. It's free! Try it today: soloterm.com

@aarondfrancis So basically automates using multiple terminal windows in VSCode to start every service? Currently Terminal Keeper already does this. To switch, I'd need prod setup also not just local. Also, process of starting every service must be simpler, don't want to open web ui everytime

I've been migrating my agents from a native approach to the Laravel AI SDK since its official release (about 5 hours ago), and it's been awesome and smooth, just eliminated a lot of pain and complexity!

The Laravel AI SDK is now available. Really proud of this package and how easy it makes building AI features into your Laravel applications. Agents, images, audio, transcription, embeddings, similarity search, pg_vector support, and more. 🤖 laravel.com/ai

The moment ETF/MF came in and voting rights has been yielded back to ETF/Fund companies while only retaining financial benefits, it was a death of so-called-capitalism as taught in universities. We all participate in it, and now we can’t cry about concentration. Every convenience has a cost.

@taylorotwell @taylorotwell @heytjmiller One of the painpoints we have is there isn't a simple way to implement RAG. Having to use FastAPI for that is a little annoying so would love to see a way to implement document(s) embedding(into vectorDB)+RAG to answer Qs abt that document in AI SDK.
