@AL_J82 He would have submitted once the council ruled on the matter. He was dead prior to the anathema so obviously it doesn’t condemn him.

Cardinal Caijitan died in 1539. He said the deuterocanonicals (apocrypha) were OUTSIDE the Bible. The council of Trent was held from 1545-1563 and anathematizes anyone who does NOT include those books. What changed concerning the Canon from the "unchanging" church? Is Cardinal Caijitan an anathema??

You can keep the cathedrals and stained glass. I'll take biblical authority and doctrinal purity any day. Truth is not measured by architecture or aesthetics, but by the Word of God. A beautiful building means nothing if it drifts from Scripture.
