RIP. Mississippi Deputy Sheriff Michael “Mike” Jimerson was murdered when he was shot and killed while responding to a disturbance call at the Reserve at Gulf Hills Apartments in Ocean Springs. Around 11:00 p.m., Deputy Jimerson and other deputies were dispatched to the apartment complex. When a woman fled, Deputy Jimerson began pursuing the subject, during which she pulled out a firearm and began shooting. Deputy Jimerson returned fire, and in the exchange of gunfire, both were struck. Deputy Jimerson was transported to Ocean Springs Hospital, where he succumbed to his wounds. The suspect died at the scene. Deputy Jimerson, 61, had served with the Jackson County Sheriff's Office for 16 years. Survivors include his wife, two children, and grandchildren. 🖤🙏💙🙏🖤

Last year, Justice Jackson dissented in the U.S. v. Skremetti case-- in which she argued that states have no right to ban gender transitions on minors. Today, she was the lone dissent on Chiles v. Salazar, writing that "there is no right to practice medicine which is not subordinate to the power of states." So, states have no right to pass laws banning children from changing their sex-- but states DO have the right to ban counselors from telling boys they are not girls. You truly can't make it up.
