It has been asked of me whether I see systemic racism in Canada and I do. This will be a thread, "I see it..." #IseeIt 1/17

@JohnRustad4BC You do know that you are criticizing your own heritage and history right? Every construct you mention arrived on those three boats. Maintained & used for centuries but suddenly they’re terrible things bc you are getting cut out?

As someone who actually chaired the Canadian Human Rights Tribunal, Mr. Thomas has seen firsthand how these so-called "human rights" tribunals have morphed from a simple, quick way to deal with real discrimination into something far more dangerous: ideological enforcement bodies that punish ordinary Canadians for wrongthink. The recent $750,000 judgment against Barry Neufeld is a perfect example of how out of control these kangaroo courts have become. An elected school trustee dared to publicly criticize the SOGI 123 curriculum and the push of gender ideology in our schools. For that, the BC Human Rights Tribunal decided he "poisoned" the workplace for teachers he never even worked with and ordered him to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages for "injury to dignity." Lets just call this what it is; this is state-sponsored intimidation. These tribunals were never meant to police political opinions, parental concerns about what their kids are being taught, or debates over basic biology. They were supposed to handle straightforward cases of discrimination in jobs or housing, quickly, fairly, and without turning every disagreement into a financial catastrophe. Instead, we've watched them become slow, expensive, one-sided processes where the deck is stacked against the respondent. No-costs awards mean even if you win, you lose thousands in legal fees. Frivolous complaints get used as leverage to force settlements. And "hate speech" or "discriminatory environment" claims are stretched so far that simply questioning the latest progressive orthodoxy on gender can ruin a person's life. David Thomas warned this would happen years ago. He was right then, and he's right now. When tribunals stop reflecting broad Canadian values and start acting like activists with gavels, they lose all legitimacy. That's why, when Independent MLA Tara Armstrong introduced the Human Rights Code Repeal Act, I and many of my colleagues supported giving it first reading. The tribunal system has strayed too far. It's time for serious reform or outright dismantling of these kangaroo courts . Real human rights deserve real due process: full rules of evidence, proper courts like the BC Supreme Court, and protections for free speech that actually mean something. Political debate, especially about what we teach our children, should never be treated as a human rights violation. British Columbians are fed up with this nonsense. Parents should be able to speak out about their kids' education without fearing financial ruin. Businesses shouldn't be fined tens of thousands over pronoun disputes. And elected officials shouldn't be dragged before unelected adjudicators for expressing views shared by thousands of their constituents. Enough is enough. We need to scrap the activist excesses, restore fairness, and protect the fundamental freedoms that make this province worth living in. The baby has been thrown out with the bathwater long ago. It's time to drain the tub. #cdnpoli #bcpoli

@LaserAud @ParksCanada Fair point. Just highlighting the core story, that the vast majority of prairie pioneers were first generation immigrants. But you’re absolutely right, some were from older central Canadian families who moved West. All of them were courageous, resourceful people.

.@ParksCanada is entrusted with preserving and celebrating Canadian history. So why do they constantly denigrate our history? The story of our Prairie pioneers is noble and inspiring: immigrants arriving with nothing but dreams and a bottomless work ethic who overcame unthinkable adversity to build communities and feed the world. It’s an exciting story worth telling and celebrating. If academic historians want to indulge their obsession with grievance studies, let them do so in obscure journals that no one reads. But please stop remaking our museums and heritage sites into woke-left political agitprop. The culture warriors at @ParksCanada should be fired and replaced by people who are actually proud of Canada, and have a sense of gratitude for those who built it.

Unthinkable adversity in this case: Ignoring the colonization and genocidal practices of a government giving them “opportunities”. “Look away child…” Talk about revisionist history or the more commonly known, whitewashing of history.

@Hezbolsonaro The racist urge to question what racism is. 😂 The white saviour narrative is ingrained in the mainstream parties, in their supporters and the bots programmed to flood social media with their cognitive dissonance.

OneBC is a deeply racist and toxic party that nobody voted for, and which should and can be relegated to irrelevance. That a leadership candidate for a mainstream party wants to intentionally legitimize them and give them a path to power is nauseating.
Rob Shaw@RobShaw_BC

NEW - @yuri_fulmer announces a deal with OneBC's @Dallas_Brodie that if he wins @Conservative_BC leadership OneBC will not run candidates in 88 or 93 ridings and Conservatives will not run in 5 ridings to pave path for OneBC. Plus a confidence and supply agreement with Brodie.

Under your leadership Ravi, there is no forest sector left in BC. Completely decimated under you and the BC NDP’s leadership. Just sit this one out. You will go down as at the worst forestry minister in the history of the province. That is your legacy.
Ravi Parmar@rparmar_BC

We’ve seen Caroline Elliott’s vision for forestry. She worked for the BC Liberals, and for over 16 years they lost 45,000 direct forestry jobs and more than 100,000 indirect jobs. Now she’s bringing that same approach to the BC Cons. BC Cons would sell out forestry workers.

@gnelsonII @wyatt_claypool We don't need to understand a dated feudal system. We wouldn't put up with direct descendents of 19th century prime ministers Macdonald MacKenzie Abbott Thompson Boswell Tupper Laurier. In democracies today, leaders are elected on merit. Not because of their mommy and daddy.

Jason Kenney claiming Wab Kinew’s speech is racist while being racist in assuming an Indigenous man doesn’t understand geopolitics
Jason Kenney 🇨🇦🇺🇦🇮🇱@jkenney

I’ll be generous by assuming this line came from a speechwriter, and that the Premier didn’t know that it’s verbatim Iranian regime propaganda, widely used as an antisemitic dog whistle. But he degrades himself and his office by turning the murderous nature and genocidal intent of the Islamic Republic into a cheap political punchline. Does he think the regime’s advanced efforts to build nuclear weapons and use them to “turn the little Satan (Israel) into a ball of fire” is a joke? Does he understand the regime is detested by the overwhelming majority of the Iranian people, who desperately hope that this military campaign will accelerate the end of the Mullahs’ reign of terror? Does he have zero understanding of the decades of violence and terror spread by the regime’s proxies across the world, from the hundreds of thousands murdered by the Iranian backed Assad regime, to the decades violent Jew hatred of Hamas & Hizbollah? Does he think it is a mere distraction to stop Iran from building 100 ballistic missiles every month, some with a range that can strike Europe? I’ve had high regard for Premier Kinew, despite our political differences. I hope this was just a monetary lapse in judgement. But I fear it reflects the Canadian left’s brain dead embrace of even the worst regimes if they are opposed by Israel and the United States.

Selina Robinson@SelinaMRobinson

What happened to the @WabKinew who was sensitive to racism and antisemitism? Let the Epstein class fight Epstein war … WTF - you do know this is code for Jews right? The @ndp the @bcndp and the @ndpmanitoba have all lost their way. The Jew hate is real.

@jmatthew42 Imagine asking people who have never needed (let alone seen) an escalator a question about escalators. Then judging them on it. Biased metrics have always favoured the so called ruling class. C. Elliot’s FB “survey” is very much biased metrics.

IQ tests are ethnocentric. if you do not partake in the culture and do not have the same life experience You will always score less. It is a built in system to promote certain cultures And deny others. They accused me of cheating because I scored high scores An "Indian" ...

WOW Probably the best explanation I’ve seen: EVERY CANADIAN NEEDS TO WATCH, how harmful UNDRIP has been & how awful DRIPA OR ANY VARIATION is to any province and our country. The madness needs to end.
Caroline Elliott@NVanCaroline

DRIPA is one of the biggest issues facing BC and many people don’t even know what it is or means. Undemocratic decisions over your land, your jobs, your future, and dividing British Columbians based on ancestry. I explain it all here. Help me repeal it: WinForBC.ca
