You know, I'd post more Irene Dunne (and Jean Arthur) if her publicity pics weren't so, dare I say, dull. She's lovable, charming and funny on screen. But her solo publicity portraits especially, are imo, formal and stiff, and somehow don't capture her goofy appeal.

100 years ago today, Andy Griffith was born in Mt. Airy, NC. When our family moved from St. Louis to L.A. in September of 1962 (I was nearly 8), Andy was sitting several seats ahead of us on the plane. He gave me his autograph which - though a bit wrinkled - I still have.
