Today I want to showcase an addon called "ARKit Toolset" created by @andyhellgrim. The addon comes with a built-in ARKit reference guide, adds empty shapekey slots for quick preparation, and comes with a pre-made anim and eye test controller for ARKit.

@realBeyondDev Hi there, random question... How hard would it be to bundle some vrm animations like the ones from 3tene with your VRM Extension Suite? It would be awesome being able to preview the character actually moving and stuff in blender, so we can tune the vrm settings.

CELRIG is a Blender add-on that realistically mimics the rostrum camera setups used to create 80s-90s era anime films. If you're interested in using it and can provide helpful feedback, DM me and I'll send you a beta version as well as a free license when it goes live. First come, first serve! The add-on is intended for use with Blender 5.0+. Although you may still be able to use it if you're totally unfamiliar with the program, I recommend a rudimentary understanding of the interface. The add-on will include a simple instruction manual to make things easier.

If I may self-suck a bit as a reward for my hard work, it’s crazy how much the Blender setup + compositor node chain is doing up close. I don’t know that there’s much else I can do to make this look more like a cel, so it’s user interface + instruction manual time

Apple just did something wild 🤯 They quietly dropped Pico-Banana-400K. It’s a 400,000-image dataset for visual editing and it might redefine multimodal training forever. Instead of relying on synthetic noise, Apple built a brutal quality assurance pipeline. They generated edits on real photos using their internal Nano-Banana model, then fed everything to Gemini 2.5 Pro. Gemini acted as a visual judge, ruthlessly scoring the images on realism, preservation, and instruction compliance. This isn't just a static dump of images. It’s a dynamic training foundation: → 72K multi-turn sequences for complex editing chains → 56K preference pairs (success vs fail) for alignment → Dual instructions featuring both long prompts and short, human-style edits Any lab can now train models to Pixar-ify a face, swap backgrounds, or shift lighting, learning strictly from high-quality, real-world examples. While the timeline is distracted by reasoning models, Apple just did something nobody saw coming.

It uses the built in shape key normal deltas if exporting as GLTF or VRM (this is a gltf-io default feature for blender), and I have yet to build support for exporting as FBX, but there is a pathway there as well. I’ve already confirmed unity supports these blend shape normals on import, and I have been in touch with warudo devs to add support. So all in all it’s looking good so far! I will probably ship the addon before the end of march :)

just make it exist first, you can make it good later! :) I did some VFX work a few months back and learned a lot through this project working with fractal noise! My real first draft got lost somewhere, but I kept scrapping it until I got to the first draft shown below. 😭

Testing out some painterly art style. I like how it's going so far. I'm tweaking the normal maps to have brush strokes to make it seem like the light is painted on the model. Mostly base colors applied still, the shading you see on the cloak is purely normals! WIP WIP WIP!
