@normal_jake_ It’s run like it’s been acquired in a PE leveraged buyout. The players hate the fans and the fans hate the sport. The nba cup, lottery reforms, playin tounry have only worsened the core problem; the regular season is too long and too many teams make the playoffs.

It makes me sound like an old man and I promise I am not asking for the world but the NBA really has no dignity at all They simply don’t respect the sport. It sounds dramatic I get it but the league office legitimately runs it like a business more than any of the other 3 majors

@normal_jake_ NBA leaned 100% into being the social media league and it’s made the entire presentation so lame

Why is matchmaking expensive? To illustrate, here’s how I’ll lose money on a client’s $49,000 package. Client is 46, 6’2, exited tech founder. He’s looking for a woman 27-33, very specific criteria around match personality, appearance, and profession. Without diving into specifics, she: • Isn’t easily searchable online... • Isn’t likely to reply when we find her… • Isn’t likely to be single… • Often has a deal-breaker trait we can’t screen for without a phone call… • Isn’t necessarily interested in my client… I was expecting this to be a difficult search, so I quoted $49,000. I wasn’t expecting ~100 hours of labor to find each match, not including communication with the client! To date I’ve spent $45,000 on salaries for the women staffed on his search, plus $2,750 on styling and photos, and we still owe the client 2 matches... Before considering overhead (let alone opportunity cost) this will be a huge L financially. Things balance out though. Most engagements are profitable. Some engagements are quite profitable. For example, a new client in NYC paid $30,000 and paused after his first match, because he’s 99% sure we found his wife. That's still a new relationship, and engagements last 9 months (6 months of active matching + up to 3 months of pause), so we could be on the hook for more work in coming months. But you get the point 🙏

Former NFL running back, and former close friend of rapper Jay Z — Larry Johnson, gives his critical analysis of Jay Z’s interview with GQ… Johnson says Jay Z keeps showing the world who he is, and some chose not to believe him… Johnson starts off by saying, “I do not have beef with this man (Jay Z) or his wife (Beyoncé); they have always treated me with respect and hospitality. He even supported me when no other brands, at the time of my professional career, would touch me. I have no regrets with my involvement with ROC-A-Wear, team ROC, and the relationships I formed. But, those things had to die off because I chose a different path. He (Jay Z) chose darkness and Satan. And, I chose the light and Yahuah.” Johnson says Jay Z is a “Prince Hall Freemason” who follows the teachings of Aleister Crowley — who was dubbed the “Wickedest Man in the World” and “The Great Beast 666.” Jay Z proudly wears a shirt with a Crowley quote reading “Do What Thou Wilt.” According to Johnson, Crowley was a high level Freemason who believed in sex magic — Crowley believed that drugging and raping young children so that they can achieve spiritual enlightenment as stated in his book “Magick in Theory and Practice,” published in 1929… Johnson says he does not believe Jay Z and Beyoncé are billionaires because of their 360 Live Nation deal where they are both being financially exploited… Johnson highlights Jay Z contradictions of trying to use racial/political propaganda against right wing media and Republicans… Especially since it was Republican President Donald Trump, who pardoned Roc Nation’s CEO, Desiree Perez — who is a former government informant, and drug smuggling mule for the drug cartel… Johnson says Jay Z was used as the face of the Brooklyn Nets to exploit his own community — even though he owned less than 1 percent of the team….This strategic move was done by the Brooklyn Nets to remove any backlash of racism from the organization — because the residents blindly supported, admired, and trusted Jay Z… Despite claims that it would boost the local economy, the Barclays Center is widely considered by residents to be a catalyst for rising inequality the borough…It’s my opinion, that this is precisely the reason why Jay Z was not granted a Casino in New York…

@realbigjoe_24 @SbondyNBA Avg NBA franchise value in 2015 was 1.1 Billion. Today it’s 4.5-5.5 Billion. Think the owners are the primary reason for that?

Today, Josh Hart advocated for the players to get a piece of the expansion fees, which are entirely pocketed by owners and are estimated at $10 billion apiece. Seattle and Las Vegas are in line to get new NBA franchises. "We need to get a cut of that," Hart said.

As much crime, fraud And interpersonal conflict I observe here, is it any wonder there are two systems??? I'm as opposed to local graft as any advocate, and then some, but this place needs robust criminal and civil benches to barely manage issues.

This is what a 5’11’ ~200lb genetically-gifted-by-the-gods NFL running back looks like in street clothes. In other words, about the best or “biggest” most ~6’ guys can be naturally. Most of you are chasing a physique that simply doesn’t exist outside of heavy steroid/PED use.

@TheHoopHerald Whole career? he was there one year. And I'm not saying he shouldn't leave but the phony heartfelt message was just a bot too much. These guys refuse to admit they are hired gunslingers to come in and win and then grab cash somewhere else. They pretend to be something else.

So, he stayed ONE year and he's issuing a phony heartfelt message about what South Florida meant to him and his family. He left his previous first and previous head coaching job at Arkansas State after two years. He will most assuredly leave his new job at Providence after three or four years--maybe sooner. He will then leave THAT next job after the same amount of time, maybe a little longer if it is a major conference school. So, please no one talk to me about how NIL is killing college basketball. The coaches invented the system, now the players get to do the same thing.

Thank you South Florida!

The transfer portal has screwed up college sports. My bill is simple: you get 5 consecutive years to play 5 seasons and you get 1 transfer. After that, if you transfer again, you sit out a year. This will fix 80% of the issues in NIL today.
OutKick@Outkick

Exclusive: @CoachForGov introduces ‘Student Athlete Act Of 2026’ aimed at curtailing transfer portal chaos. It give athletes five years to play five seasons, while also penalizing a player 1 year for transferring a second time, he tells @OutKickHotMic outkick.com/sports/tommy-t…

I’m not an avid college sports follower. What’s the solution here? Take it back to no payments? Surely there’s a middle ground where athletes get some benefit and it doesn’t fully accrue to the university. A bunch of 19+ year old high school graduates doesn’t seem like the right outcome…
