G6 fans have, by your own admission, very loudly told the world they have zero interest in a G6 playoff because theyd rather compete for the top title. And they are right to do so. At some point, everyone will be forced to acknowledge that the gap between a top G6 and a top P4 is way smaller than what we've been led to believe. If it was, P4 teams wouldnt gut G6 rosters every season. If it was, P4 teams wouldnt be poaching entire G6 coaching staffs every offseason. The only ones that want a G6 playoff are the SEC/B10 fans and admins that are absolutely terrified of being exposed by a "lesser" program.

Here’s today’s reality with high school sports at many schools: When kids know a final game is going to be a blowout, many quit before it even happens. Others suddenly “can’t make it.” Why ride a bus an hour to lose 8-0, 56-0 or 25-0, 25-0? It happens across all sports more than people want to admit. It’s getting worse. You just don’t hear about it, because most prep media is dead. What’s left often only covers winners or is paid by school programs to cover and rank them. A coach told me this recently: “We were the No. 1 seed. The team we drew in the regional semis won its play-in game, then all the seniors quit because they saw they had to play us and wanted to go to Great America instead. Coach showed up with nine players. We played 9-v-9 for a half, won 6-0 and got permission to end it early. Then we had pizza together.” This is another prime example of adults running the same hamster scheduling wheel, because “that’s the way it’s always been done.” Games cost money: Transportation. Officials. Staffing. Athletic trainers. Field maintenance. If you saw what schools are paying for transportation alone since 2019, many of you would be stunned. You’d be floored. So instead of protecting the status quo, maybe the better question is this: How do we help lower-tier programs keep kids engaged and showing up? How do we help the high school sports kingdom? One coach said this to me today: “Honestly, (the ILSupt’s idea) would be fun. Imagine an elite suburban program having to play at a CPS school? People would scream bloody murder. But it would expose kids to different environments and perspectives. I guess she would be confused about this legal process….when she and DA Williams wanted Clerk Chelsea Napoleon removed and replaced, they just told the council to do it, and it was done. The attacks by New Orleans politicians on the AG and the Governor are a deflection from the internal fighting this has caused within the Democratic Party in New Orleans. The Mayor and DA sacrificed Chelsea Napoleon to profit off the political capital of Calvin Duncan. Calvin Duncan is being used. As the media swarms Troy Carter and Cedric Richmond with redistricting questions, they should ask: Do you stand behind the removal of Clerk Chelsea Napoleon??
