My EAD has been pending since October 2025. Lost my housing, income, health insurance, and now my job offer is on the line... meanwhile here's how our court case has gone: First, the government didn't like the assigned judge!! so they asked for a new one. Hearing delayed 1 month! We said nothing. We trusted our lawyer. Then the government asked for extra time to file their objection. Our lawyer gave it to them. Again, we said nothing. Today? Hearing delayed 2 more weeks!! because of FONT SIZE! not over the merits of our case, but over font size! @curtismorrison we are losing everything while briefs get rejected for formatting errors ! I am spending a bit more time these days helping in local and state races in Wisconsin. If you are an anti-H-1B activist, here is why these races matter a lot more than you think. Yes, even if you live in a flyover state. Thanks to @JobsNowPR's success, companies are now transferring H-1B visa employees to satellite offices to give them a chance to pass their PERMs. Mortgage Fraud Investigations For obvious reasons, I can't and won't say the state here, but it is real, and it is happening. The very first state government that was interested in our H-1B landlord data reached out to us 3 months ago. In that short period of time, 0.5% of their foreign-born population is under investigation for mortgage fraud. If @EricJToney (Republican candidate for attorney general) had the appetite to prosecute H-1B visa holders for mortgage fraud, that would be a little over 1,700 possible cases in Wisconsin. State Data Sharing with Immigration Enforcement There is a state that has discreetly become a pioneer in data sharing to find visa violations that lead to revocations, which is separate from 287(g) agreements. Close to 1% of their foreign-born population saw their visa revoked. This is across all visa categories and nationalities. If @TomTiffanyWI is elected governor, Wisconsin will no longer be a sanctuary state. It should go above and beyond, and look into how state data can help revoke potentially 2,700 visas. 287(G) Agreements While this will not directly impact H-1B visa issuance, being in a county or state with a 287(G) agreement helps get H-1B visa holders with criminal records deported and acts as a deterrent. If @TomTiffanyWI wanted to follow the lead of @GovRonDeSantis, this would lead to 3,200 deportations of illegals in 18 months, plus self-deportations. Property Records If @TomTiffanyWI is elected governor, he can appoint the Secretary of the Department of Administration. They could digitize and centralize all property records in Wisconsin, which would make my life a lot easier. This is also why your county assessor or register of deeds matters. If they could go back to 2010, it would be great. Rental Registries This is something that the State Department has the appetite to look into when revoking H-1B visas, and some states and municipalities are better than others. Arizona and @AssessorEddie are pioneers in this domain, and I can't wait to see the possibilities once @andybiggs4az becomes governor of Arizona. In one city in a flyover state, we have 7 cases sent so far, and a possibility of growing that list to 200 individuals. While traditionally a left-leaning policy, it can be used for other purposes. Corporate Registries @nateforwi already discussed this, but one of his priorities if he is elected as the Secretary of State is to digitize and make corporate records accessible in Wisconsin. Many H-1B visa holders use LLCs to hide their real estate holdings, making it harder for me to find them. They are copying the same tactics that CCP officials used to hide their wealth in Vancouver's real estate market for the last 40 years. The tools required for me to access this data are very expensive. Sting Operations Two of the three most common criminal charges for H-1B visa holders are DUIs and solicitation of prostitution. I found two rental ads in Arizona where the phone number listed belonged to a sex worker. Your local Sheriff and district attorney play a role here, as sting operations for DUIs and prostitution will catch H-1B visa holders. The third crime is domestic violence, where most victims are on H4 visas and are too afraid to testify for fear of losing their legal status in the United States and being shamed by both families. These victims often wait to get through the green card process before divorcing their abuser. However, there is an opportunity for these women to step forward once they and their children get their green cards. If they denounce their husband for his crimes and visa violations that can lead to a retroactive visa revocation, they will not lose legal status in the United States. These are only the tactics being used against H-1B visa holders that are already public. More is being done behind the scenes. Trust me when I say this, your local and state government can do so much more than they are doing at the moment. Please get involved.
