@instablog9ja That’s not an accident, that’s gross negligence. Basic safety procedures exist for a reason. A young life was lost because someone failed to do the one thing they were responsible for doing. Those responsible must be held accountable.

21-Year-Old Brazilian Woman D+es after She Was Pushed Off Bridge Without Safety Rope During Bungee Jump
A 21-year-old woman, identified as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas, d+ed after allegedly being pushed from a bridge without a safety rope during a bungee-jumping event in Brazil.
The fatal incident occurred on Saturday at the so-called “Skeleton Bridge” in Limeira, São Paulo State, where Freitas plunged about 130 feet (40 metres) into a ravine after event staff reportedly failed to secure her to the necessary safety equipment.
According to reports, Freitas was escorted onto the jumping platform by two men before being pushed from the edge. A video circulating online allegedly captured the moment bystanders shouted that she was not attached to a rope before she fell into the canyon below.
Emergency responders rushed to the scene but pronounced her de@d on arrival.
Witnesses told police that organisers appeared to have forgotten to fasten the safety cord before the jump. Authorities have since detained six people connected to the event, five men and one woman, as investigations continue.
Freitas had earlier shared photos from the venue on social media, showing the bridge, equipment and other participants. In one post, she jokingly wrote, “Who was the cr@zy person that let me jump off a bridge???”
The company reportedly responsible for organising the event, Entre Cordas, has come under scrutiny following the tragedy.
Local media reported that some organisers fled the scene after the incident. Police later tracked down two of them with the help of a helicopter search operation in a nearby wooded area.
Freitas’ fiancé, who was present at the event, reportedly required medical attention after learning of her de@th.
The Civil Police have launched a full investigation and are expected to determine whether criminal charges will be filed against those arrested.

@Teeniiola True, but accountability should go both ways. Not every “good person” is healthy to reconnect with, and not every fallout is just a misunderstanding. Sometimes wisdom is knowing when to apologize… and when to walk away with peace.

This is more of a moral panic than a solution. You can’t “declare a state of emergency” on behavior driven largely by unemployment, inequality, and lack of opportunity.
If the economy truly improves and jobs become accessible, most people don’t need convincing to leave survival-driven choices behind… they just need alternatives that actually pay.
Also, reducing young Nigerians to JAMB scores or blanket labels ignores the real issue: skills gap, weak systems, and broken pathways from education to work.

A state of emergency should be declared on this fraud and hookup culture that is ruining the lives of our young men and women.
Otherwise, many young Nigerians would be unemployable in the future, even when our economy starts to improve & more jobs become available.
We would also get to witness a dearth of artisans.
The economy right now, has made many of our young brilliant citizens and skilled craftsman to relocate from the country.
Those who are stuck in the country, have taken to fraud and prostitution.
So which economy are we building for them?
Are they even preparing themselves for the future economic growth?
Or if an opportunity arises?
If you work in HR or an HR executive, you'd understand what I am saying.
And those of you experienced 9-5 ers would be able to understand too.
After all, is it not below 200 that most of them scored in jamb?
End.
