@digitalfoundry Seeing people say there is no noticeable different shows me why fsr 2 was so well regarded and people thought it was good. Pssr 1 looked awful. Pssr 2 looks a lot better. Hopefully devs use the improved upscaling to use a more aggressive internal res with more rt for quality mode

@BocaBola_ Amd will copy it 2 years later, but instead make it only support the newest gpu that is out at the time and put the rest on maintenance mode. I am still mad about fsr 4 and will not buy any gpu from them until they commit that fsr 5 and later will support rdna 4

I spent so many hours trying to get hdr to work on my KDE plasma wayland linux pc and no game looks right. Moving back to w11 after trying this for some weeks. If anyone has a recommendation for a good distro with nvidia support and HDR please let me know

@yadspi @DreadyBear @Kepler_L2 You aren't stuck to windows. I run cachyos as my main os on my 5080 pc. I personally prefer windows more but giving it a couple of months. I wouldnt dare sell the gpu for a 9070xt even though on linux the performance of the two are a lot closer vs windows

@DreadyBear @Kepler_L2 Of course, but you pay more and are stuck to windows and with valve moving things towards steamos idk. I just sold today my 5070 and bought a 9070xt with a free crimson desert code, (I had a 7700xt before that) let's see if I get burned

If the power gating and optimized layout didn't increase relative performance it wouldn't have been ported to the SoC. However, if they ported it it means they saw an efficiency improvement which is a performance improvement

I also wouldnt call power gating on a handheld a minor aspect or the layout optimization of tpcs. This coupled with amd design being so behind lacking hardware for upscalling makes the switch feel newer.

I just disagree that you can boil it down to a 2020 gpu. The switch like ps5 is extremely custom and has aspects from gpus in the future irregardless of the tape out date and

@daniel_rollins @1StarImpact @Eldonchorizo_ steam deck. The switch 2 is rendering requiem at 360p internal res with an unstable 30-60fps output. If the deck was lowered to that res it would look horrendous. With the switch being able to dip to that low of a resolution it should usually be gpu bound in most games hopefully

Even then the biggest change is that it has a good upscaler. RDNA 2 was a bad design and lacking a good upscaler is hurting the s

Just sad news today hearing about Bluepoint Games closing. I feel for my friends who worked there. They produced best-in-class remasters and remakes that made videogames better. Under Sony they were mismanaged and released nothing. Set up for failure. What a waste.

@Jahtri16 Pushing the PS6 back is literally the only actual GOOD thing happening because of AI. The PS5 barely started 3 years ago thanks to shortages. That thing is at least half a decade away before there should be a successor

@ayofrankieee @Wario64 I got mine mainly for game streaming and use it mostly now. My biggest 2 gripes so far has been the audio goes way too low when muting one display and I wish it was bigger. It took me longer in late poe maps to loot but having my build or youtube under it was a great experience

@Wario64 I got the Ayn Thor max and I hardly even touch the thing compared to my pc and switch 2. Its a shame. I have all of my childhood games and games I've always wanted to play, have all emu set up. I just hardly ever try to make time for it when I rather just play those two ^
