@yFactr @alanthefisher I'm not sure CA has even purchased all the land needed for the initial operating segment between Merced and Bakersfield. Maybe they finally bought the last parcels last year. And the EIRs required for other segments aren't completed. Neither of those is related to Big Oil.

there are so many astroturfed conservatives against CAHSR because the second that there is a working train between 2 cities in the US that can hit 200mph it is fundamentally over for the argument of "that doesn't work here" The oil lobby will do everything possible to stop that
